Not only was Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin in ICU for four days without President Biden or anyone in Congress being informed, but he remains in the hospital even though a spokesperson has stated that the Biden official has resumed full duties.
What’s more, the Pentagon has avoided explaining why Austin is in the hospital or when he’s expected to be released. At the same time, outrage continues to grow over a scandal that many insist left America vulnerable to an attack.
Pentagon press secretary Maj. Gen. Pat Ryder said Austin was admitted to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center last Monday due to complications from an elective medical procedure that took place on Dec. 22, 2023, according to Fox News. Ryder said the Defense secretary started experiencing “severe pain,” and was taken back to Walter Reed and admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
As for the fallout from keeping Biden, the commander in chief, in the dark, Politico reported that a DOD official said, “Someone’s head has to roll.”
“Not telling the [White House], Congress or the media he is sick, and then telling Pentagon staff he is working from home is next level. This is a problem,” a former senior DOD official said, according to the outlet. “Someone made the decision not to disclose. That person will likely be gone shortly.”
On that note, Kristina Wong, the Pentagon correspondent for Breitbart News, reported that Biden and Austin had a “warm conversation” on Saturday, so don’t hold your breath.
So yeah, if you were waiting for any kind of accountability, it’s not going to happen. Per NBC News, Biden and Austin had a “warm conversation” on Saturday. https://t.co/d1AMEvUm3k pic.twitter.com/tjJURj4zlH

Austin released a weak statement on Saturday, but did not address the incomprehensible decision to not notify the President of the United States.
“I recognize I could have done a better job ensuring the public was appropriately informed. I commit to doing better,” he said in the release. “This was my medical procedure, and I take full responsibility for my decisions about disclosure.” Austin didn’t address failing to notify Biden.
Tom Fitton, founder and president of the watchdog group Judicial Watch, blasted the president for what he called a compromise of military command.
“The National Command Authority of the United States was compromised this week under Joe Biden. Secretary of Defense Austin, who has military command authority second only to the president, hid his medical incapacity from Biden and did not inform the Commander in Chief or the White House about his emergency hospitalization for several days,” he said in a tweet. “This is yet another crisis caused by Biden’s failing ability to perform his duties. (Austin has repeatedly shown contempt for the rule of law and Congress, even with a Republican-controlled House, has done nothing to police his misconduct and abuses of power.)”

A common theme seen online, including from members of Congress, is that if “they” hid the fact that Austin was in ICU imagine what they are covering up about the 81-year-old geriatric president who seems to struggle exiting a stage by himself::
If the Secretary of Defense being secretly held in the ICU for days is covered up, you can be sure they’re covering up Biden’s cognitive issues!!

Well, they may have hid the Defense Secretary’s health condition for about a week, but I’m sure they’re always honest and forthcoming about how Joe Biden is doing.

Here’s a small sampling of other responses to the story, as seen on X:
Joe Biden is such a weak and ineffective leader, no one in our government even felt obligated to inform the President that the Secretary of Defense was unwell in the ICU and unable to fulfill his duties.
This is a very serious national security issue that must be investigated!! https://t.co/1kOl0K5VQb

This reinforces the idea of a Deep State. It doesn’t oppose Biden, but it hid the fact of Austin’s illness from the president. We do appear to have a national security apparatus that believes it can function outside of democracy. Democrats, for now, are its allies. Not forever. https://t.co/fVgXeGAhil

Hicks’ CYA so she is still in line to take over for Austin when he can’t continue his job “for medical reasons”.
Biden’s DoD is in shambles & the world is a much more dangerous place because of it.

Not to mention the fact that the Acting Sec Def remained on vacation in Puerto Rico and Austin is still in the hospital and no one knows what the heck going on. https://t.co/IWjOTyKFe3

Why is a presidential administration not telling a President things? https://t.co/jjgrx1JlPq

Reports are that Biden not informed his Sec of Defense was in hospital / ICU until Thursday – everyone who kept this from the Pres should be fired.
