Emotional Biden accepts ‘global citizen’ award from Bill Clinton, tells Hillary ‘I love you’

President Joe Biden may no longer be running for the Oval Office, but that doesn’t mean Democrats have stopped showering him with praise.

Since dropping out of the race, Biden has been lauded as a selfless man who put his country above his own ambitions. On Monday, he received the Clinton Global Citizen Award for his “uncommon decency, goodness and grace” from Hillary and Bill Clinton.

The moment became emotional when Biden wiped a tear from his eye and thanked Hillary “personally” for her help.

“I want to thank you personally for the way you have helped me,” he said to the former secretary of state. “I love you.”

“You and I have something very much in common. We married way above our station. I’m Jill Biden’s husband. He’s Hillary Clinton’s husband,” Biden joked with the audience, praising his wife for her “work on women’s health research.”

“As a point of personal pride, I think Jill’s work on women’s health research, and this is Jill’s, and this was Jill’s movement – that was going to go down as one of our significant programs in our administration,” the president added.
