Five Guys employee attacked, place ransacked after Knicks NBA Finals comeback win

If this is how so-called “Knicks fans” are going to act while dominating the NBA finals, imagine the carnage if the team were losing.

The New York Knicks made a record-breaking 29-point comeback in Game 4 of the NBA Finals, defeating the San Antonio Spurs 107-106 at Madison Square Garden, giving New York a 3-1 lead in the best-of-7 championship game.

The alleged hometown fans opted to celebrate by going berserk at a nearby Five Guys restaurant, attacking an employee en masse with chairs, stools, and fists, as seen in wild videos making the rounds. The hapless worker did his best to fight back with a fry basket — it’s not clear what provoked the mob to violently attack the man.

“Ohh, they’re killing him, oh!” an onlooker cries out as the mob descends on the worker.

The employee was left battered and bloody, and there have been no arrests as police investigate.

Violence after the games held in NYC has been a common factor, with the New York Post reporting, “The streets surrounding Madison Square Garden descended into chaos after Game 4 of the NBA Finals on Wednesday night.”

“Dozens of people were arrested in the mayhem that erupted across Gotham, according to law enforcement, in which 10 members of the NYPD were injured, including one officer who was struck in the head with a glass bottle,” the newspaper added.

Here’s a quick sampling of responses to the story, as seen on X:
