Fmr. NHL star in hot water over ‘Lizzo-sized lunch’ quip: ‘Not acceptable. That’s fatphobic’

Twitter is once again up in arms, this time over a quip by ESPN analyst and former professional ice hockey defenseman P.K. Subban, branding him “fatphobic” and “bigoted.”

The comment came during a Tuesday night discussion following a disappointing performance by the Toronto Maple Leafs. ESPN co-host John Buccigross suggested that the team had to “pack a lunch,” calling out their lack of energy.

“Listen, maybe they need to pack a Lizzo-sized lunch,” Subban followed up, referring to the plus-sized rapper.
