Gov. Pritzer begs Abbott to stop busing migrants to Chicago: ‘I plead with you for mercy’

Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker has sent a spiteful letter to Texas Gov. Greg Abbott begging him to stop shipping illegal aliens to Chicago.

The letter begins with Pritzker talking junk and accusing Abbott of shipping illegal alien migrants to Chicago “to score political points.”

He then pivots to issuing a sob story about the illegal alien migrants now stuck in the blistering cold of Chicago, a self-identified sanctuary city.

“You are now sending asylum seekers from Texas to the Upper Midwest in the middle of winter — many without coats, without shoes to protect them from the snow — to a city whose shelters are already overfilled with migrants you sent here,” the letter reads.

“Chicago’s temperatures this weekend are forecast to drop below zero. Your callousness, sending buses and planes full of migrants in this weather, is now life-threatening to every one of the arrivals. Hundreds of children’s and families’ health and survival are at risk due to your actions,” it continues.

In the next paragraph, Pritzker returns to talking trash, accusing Abbott of playing a “political game of exploiting the most vulnerable for the sake of culture wars and talking points.”

“You seem to have no interest in working on bipartisan solutions to the border crisis because they would put an end to your cruel political game,” the letter continues.

The Illinois governor then pivots once more to issuing a sob story and literally begging Abbott — whom he’s already insulted multiple times in the letter — to stop shipping illegals to Chicago.

“I am writing to you today hoping to appeal to your humanity. Over the coming days, Illinois will experience a dangerous winter storm and subzero temperatures. I strongly urge you to stop sending people to Illinois in these conditions,” the letter reads.

“I plead with you for mercy for the thousands of people who are powerless to speak for themselves. Please, while winter is threatening vulnerable people’s lives, suspend your transports and do not send more people to our state,” it concludes.

The letter also contains some blather about the need for Congress “to vote for bipartisan immigration reform,” a term that usually denotes amnesty without any meaningful border security.

Responding to the letter via the social media platform X, critics assailed Pritzker for aiming all his wrath and fury at the wrong person.

Abbott’s camp also responded by issuing a statement to the Chicago Sun-Times calling on Pritzker to file his complaints with the “big guy.”

“Instead of complaining about migrants sent from Texas, where we are also preparing to experience severe winter weather across the state, Governor Pritzker should call on his party leader to finally do his job and secure the border — something he continues refusing to do,” Abbott’s spokesperson said.

“Until President Biden steps up and does his job to secure the border, Texas will continue transporting migrants to sanctuary cities to help our local partners respond to this Biden-made crisis,” he added.

As previously reported, Abbott and other border state governors and order mayors, including some Democrat ones, have been shipping illegal alien migrants up north to self-identified sanctuary cities.

The goal of these operations has been to reduce the burden experienced by border states and towns, while also giving a wake-up call to the blue city governors and mayors up north who’ve taken the crisis for granted.

The ultimate goal has been to inspire President Joe Biden to finally secure the border, but he’s steadfastly refused, choosing instead to play his own “cruel political game” …
