Here’s how lib host justifies widescale suppression of conservatives: ‘I don’t like censorship, but…’

Fox News host Trace Gallagher spoke with liberal radio talk show host Leslie Marshall on Thursday concerning the release of the “Twitter Files” and she predictably rolled out the leftist talking point that she didn’t like censorship, but it’s a private company.

Twitter was blacklisting conservatives but the bombshell in this is that the blacklisting was coming from the top,” Gallagher stated at the beginning of the segment.

“Bari Weiss says the following, quoting here, ‘But there existed a level beyond official ticketing, beyond the rank-and-file moderators following the company’s policy on paper. That is the ‘Site Integrity Policy, Policy Escalation Support,’ known as ‘SIP-PES.’ This secret group included Head of Legal, Policy, and Trust (Vijaya Gadde), the Global Head of Trust & Safety (Yoel Roth), subsequent CEOs Jack Dorsey and Parag Agrawal, and others,” he noted.

And Dorsey testified in 2018 before commerce… that they were not censoring conservative voices,” Gallagher charged.

He went on to refer to the New York Post’s Miranda Devine who broke the Hunter Biden laptop story and what she had to say about the “Twitter Files” and the exposure of censorship on the social media platform.

“It is really gratifying to see it laid out in policies and to capture those top people at Twitter in their lies because they did lie. They said that there was no shadowbanning going on where we knew just by our own experience on Twitter… I, for instance, since Elon Musk bought in, have increased my follower amount by 40 percent,” Devine told Fox News host Tucker Carlson.

“They knew they were being censored Leslie because all of the sudden their sites, their accounts blew up again,” Gallagher stated, kicking off the conversation with Marshall.

Immediately, Marshall went directly to the “private company” talking point that the left conveniently embraces now.

“But see, this is where I have the problem. Even though I don’t like censorship, Twitter is a private company. They had every right and continue to have every right to censor. They’re not a media entity. They don’t claim to be. They’re not saying we’re putting out facts. They don’t say they’re reporting the news,” Marshall commented.

“What do they do? Think about Facebook. Facebook originally was about rating women on a scale of 1 to 10 and almost like a dating app and what it’s become now. I think it’s sad that we put so much legitimacy into these outlets that aren’t media. They’re not journalistic. And dare I say, do you think Donald Trump’s platform has shadowboxing for liberals? I think so,” she continued.

“Is it your position you think this is appropriate for Twitter to do?” Gallagher asked her.

“I don’t think it’s the right choice. But I also think it’s very dangerous a lot of the information we’ve seen out there. Whether it be from an Alex Jones or other people that fan the flames, you know, that leads to either violence or conspiracy theories that are extremely offensive to people who have buried their children as an example,” Marshal responded.

“I believe only, only limiting conservative voices seems to be a problem for a lot of people, even a lot of Democrats, because they think, ‘You know what, it’s just not fair play,'” Gallagher pointed out.

Marshall is a leftist Fox News contributor who has been commenting on the network since 2009 but doesn’t get much attention. Her stance on Twitter censorship, however, is indicative of how the left views the issue currently.
