‘He’s lying (again)’: US president repeats one of his tall tales, refers to ‘O’Biden’ administration

At times, President Biden seems to exist in a world of his own making — then again, his history of gaffes suggests that the 81-year-old president is fairly confident that the press has his back.

Why else would Biden continue to repeat falsehoods such as the claim he repeated Thursday while speaking at a White House event marking Greek Independence Day, that he has traveled 17,000 miles with President Xi Jinping of China?  Not content with just one flub, the U.S. president also referred to the ‘O’Biden’ administration.

Biden spoke over the phone recently with Xi, who’s also general secretary of the Chinese Communist Party, and he was trying to portray his familiarity with the Chinese leader.

“I was once asked by Xi Jinping, and I traveled 17,000 miles with him — I was out at the Tibetan plateau,” Biden claimed. “He looked at me and he said, ‘Can you define America?’ I could say the same thing if he asked me to define Greece. I said, ‘Yes, one word’ and I mean this sincerely, it’s recorded, I said, ‘possibilities.'”

Of course, when Biden doubles down on a claim, the odds are in your favor if you doubt the assertion. In this case, the ever-friendly Washington Post gave Biden a “bottomless Pinocchio” rating, describing the assertion as “false or misleading statements repeated so often that they became a form of propaganda.”

Biden has a satchelful of such statements, such as his oft-repeated claim about how he almost “lost my wife, my ’67 Corvette and my cat” to a housefire when, in reality, there was a small fire contained in the kitchen.

Another “true story” he insists happened is that Amtrak conductor Angelo Negri congratulated him for traveling more on Amtrak than he had on Air Force planes as vice president after allegedly calculating that Biden had traveled more than 2 million miles on Amtrak.

“Ang walks up to me and goes, ‘Joey, baby!’ Grabs my cheek. And I thought the Secret Service was going to blow his head off,” Biden said last year. “So, Joey, I don’t want to hear this about the Air Force anymore.”

Interestingly, a recent Wall Street Journal poll showing Trump ahead of Biden in six key swing states also found that only 28% of voters contended that Biden had the “mental and physical fitness needed to be president.”

Biden also stumbled badly Thursday while trying to recall the “Obama-Biden administration,” referring to the ‘O’Biden administration’ instead.
