Fox News host Jesse Watters had some serious doubts about the Texas synagogue hostage situation that took place over the weekend, saying there was a lot of “suspicious things” going on and questioning whether the now deceased perpetrator was known to law enforcement.

“The Five” opened Monday’s show with a segment on the terror attack in Texas, with host Dana Perino noting that the FBI was “doing damage control over the way it first characterized” events. Explaining that a British national stormed the synagogue and took four hostages, before demanding the release of a prisoner known as ‘Lady al Qaeda,’ only to be killed after an 11 hour stand off, Perino then played a clip of an FBI official saying, “We do believe from our engagement with the subject that he was singly focused on one issue and it was not specifically related to the Jewish community. But we will continue to work to find motive and we will continue on that path.”

“After backlash, the FBI doing a 180 and saying in a statement, ‘This is a terrorism related matter, in which the Jewish community was targeted,  and it is being investigated by the Joint Terrorism Task Force,'” she said, before adding that President Biden responded to the incident by pushing for gun control.

Co-host Greg Gutfeld made a sarcastic reference about parents attending school board meetings being radicalized by Tucker Carlson, before commenting on a hypersensitivity within the bureau toward the Muslim community as suggested by Andy McCarthy.

“The FBI is more concerned about the perceptions of them being seen as intolerant, especially now in the age of ‘woke.’ That is more important than speaking the truth. You are seeing this all throughout the White House and Joe Biden,” he said.

Gutfeld also suggested the general public can discern whether this was the “work of Islamic terrorists and anti-Semitic attack” without looking through a politically correct lens that yields to wokeness.

Perino pointed to the fact that the suspect, Malik Faisal Akram, 44, just entered the country on December 29 to ask Watters about stricter border enforcement and whether there was any “intel chatter going on before this?”

Taking note that President Biden will be holding his first news conference in well over two months on Wednesday, Watters suggested a few questions that should be directed at the president.

“This guy wasn’t on your radar? Mr. President, you gave him a visa two weeks ago to come into this country. What kind of visa was it? Did you vet him? Was he on a watch list? Usually, the Feds are all over these people,” he said. “And then they do a raid immediately in England with associates or people affiliated with them. So Scotland Yard didn’t know anything about this? MI6 had no clue about this guy?”

“This guy buys a hot gun off the street two weeks after he gets here? Who is the guy who he bought the gun from?” Watters continued. “They don’t even know how he died. Who shot him? There’s a lot of suspicious things about this story and a lot of unanswered questions. And hopefully, Joe has at least one of those answers in the next 48 hours because he should be asked about this.”

Watters concluded his thoughts by reminding viewers of the FBI’s focus under Biden.

“If there’s someone – foreign national, radical Muslim — who comes into this country and holds Jewish people hostage at a synagogue and demands the release of an al Qaeda prisoner, the FBI comes out and says we can’t rule out Trump supporters… We don’t know if his motive was white rage. Or the Russians… the FBI has said the number one domestic terrorist threat is white supremacists, so when something like this happen, they can’t ruling anything out. Everybody is a suspect,” he said.

Co-host Lisa Kennedy weighed in to say the FBI has “egg all over its face” for its handling of the terror attack.

“For that meathead spokesperson to come out and say it had nothing to do with the fact that this was a synagogue, a Jewish house of worship, that’s absolute baloney,” she said.

“Everyone should be outraged about this,” Kennedy added. “You have to be straightforward with people. That’s the only way we can make society safer is if you’re honest with people instead of trying to shellac things. So the FBI has egg all over its face.”
