Kamala Harris mum, campaign says there are still ‘votes to count’

Editor’s Note: Vice President Kamala Harris called President-elect Trump to congratulate him on winning the 2024 presidential election Wednesday afternoon, after this article was published.

Adding to a record of incendiary behavior, the vice president’s lingering failure in the wake of the election left her slammed as “Pathetic.”

A new day dawned in America that Vice President Kamala Harris appeared to remain ill-equipped to handle. After following the pattern of Democratic Party candidates in recent decades, refusing to admit defeat when a clear outcome had been projected, her continued silence compounded division as the hashtag “#DoNotConcedeKamala” trended on social media.

As had been reported Democratic National Committee senior adviser and Harris campaign co-chair Cedric Richmond had dismissed the lingering supporters gathered at Howard University to hear a speech from the vice president with the message, “We still have votes to count. We still have states that have not been called yet. We will continue, overnight, to fight to make sure that every vote is counted, that every voice has spoken.”

“So, you won’t hear from the vice president tonight, but you will hear from her tomorrow,” he added without specifying when or what that message would include.

Over the course of election coverage, multiple news outlets had noted that the campaign had stopped providing statements to the media when the outlook had grown bleak for Harris.

Now, as even MSNBC’s talking heads on “Morning Joe” have admitted that former President Donald Trump has garnered “the biggest red wave” since President Ronald Reagan’s re-election in 1984, the Democratic Party candidate’s failure to concede was viewed as anything but flattering.

“It’s been seven hours since Trump won the White House in a landslide and Kamala Harris has refused to concede. Pathetic,” Townhall Editor Katie Pavlich posted on X while columnist and Fox News contributor Joe Concha wrote, “Kamala is all class, isn’t she? Leaves her supporters hanging into the wee hours of the morning and still hasn’t made any statement. Her political career is over. There’s no coming back from this.”

While the twice-failed presidential hopeful maintained radio silence after having her so-called “joy” rejected by the majority of American voters, the same party that ranted for four years that raising concerns over election integrity was akin to attempting to overturn the results proved hypocritical as “#DoNotConcedeKamala” found many equally unwilling to accept defeat.

“If Biden, Kamala, and the dems don’t fight for us, I will lose hope in humanity,” came one argument as others brought up issues of ballots being destroyed, despite that not being a “widespread” matter, wondering without support for the claim, “How did we have a bigger voter turnout compared to 2020, and yet less votes were cast? Something isn’t adding up here.”

The more complaints came in, the more mockery the left received for proving their own selective outrage, “Anyone else find it ironic that when you read #DoNotConcedeKamala you see a lot of people denying the results of the election.”
