Karoline Leavitt offered her final farewell on Thursday, wrapping up a nearly 20-month “adventure” as the youngest person to ever serve as White House press secretary.
“It’s a little bit bittersweet. It’s bitter because I’m leaving a job that I love so very much, and it’s been the honor and blessing of a lifetime to work for this president, President Trump. There will never be another like him,” Leavitt, 29, said in an interview with Fox News.
She called her experience the “adventure of a lifetime,” expressing her gratitude toward her “boss and friend” for believing in her and for understanding that “it’s time for me to take a step back so I can spend more tine with my two beautiful children.”
“They’re just at a critical time in their life where they need their mom home a little bit more, so I look forward to spending more time with them, but continuing to serve the president as a top advisor on the outside,” Leavitt said.

Leavitt gave birth to a baby girl in May of this year. She is expected to remain as a top outside advisor to the administration, and her advice to her eventual successor is to understand that President Trump is “his own best spokesperson.”
Interestingly, there are rumors floating around that ABC is pursuing Leavitt to join the crew of harpies on “The View.”
For what it’s worth, the six co-hosts from last season’s show, Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sara Haines, Ana Navarro, Sunny Hostin and Alyssa Farrah Griffin, are expected to return for the show’s 30th season in September.
