Mamdani posts video tipping illegals on how to evade ICE, ‘stand up’ to feds

New York City’s soon-to-be mayor, Zohran Mamdani, has already begun giving illegal immigrants tips on knowing their “rights” and evading federal law.

The Democratic Socialist is weeks from being sworn in as NYC mayor for “more than 3 million immigrants,” so he posted a video message advising how those who illegally entered the U.S. can “stand up” to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents.

“Last weekend, ICE attempted to raid Canal Street and detain our immigrant neighbors,” Mamdani said in a video he posted on Sunday, referring to a raid in Chinatown that was disrupted by protesters.

“As mayor, I’ll protect the rights of every single New Yorker. And that includes the more than 3 million immigrants who call this city their home,” he continued, standing in front of a chart as he offered step-by-step instructions. “But we can all stand up to ICE if you know your rights.”

“ICE cannot enter into private spaces like your home, school, or private area of your workplace without a judicial warrant signed by a judge,” Mamdani said.

“You have the right to say, ‘I do not consent to entry,’ and the right to keep your door closed,” the Queens assembly member continued as he displayed an example.

“ICE is legally allowed to lie to you. But you have the right to remain silent. If you are being detained, you may always ask, ‘Am I free to go?’ repeatedly until they answer you,” Mamdani said. “You are legally allowed to film ICE, as long as you do not interfere with an arrest.”

He followed with a word about protesting.

“New Yorkers have a constitutional right to protest, and when I’m mayor, we will protect that right,” the mayor-elect promised.

The latest data from the current NYC  Mayor Eric Adams’ Office of Immigrant Affairs reports that “New York City is home to about 3.1 million immigrants, who comprise about 38 percent of the city’s total population.”

While Mamdani’s public service announcement to illegal immigrants was cheered by the left, others on social media ripped into the Ugandan-born mayor-elect.
