Murkowski, Collins, Paul side with seditious Dems against Trump – because of course they do

President Donald Trump’s call for an investigation of sedition by Democrats has some in the Republican Party balking.

In what may not come as a surprise, Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska), Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), and Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine) have spoken out against the administration’s reaction to the video released by six Democratic lawmakers urging the military and the intelligence community to “refuse illegal orders.”

“If you take it at face value, the idea that calling your opponents ‘traitors’ — and then specifically saying that it warrants the death penalty — is reckless, inappropriate, irresponsible,” Paul told CBS’s “Face the Nation”  on Sunday.

Paul referred to Trump’s “unfiltered social media,” specifically Truth Social posts about the Democrats’ video that declared it, “SEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR, punishable by DEATH!”

Sen. Collins reportedly “furrowed her brow incredulously” when a reporter read her the president’s post, according to The Hill.

“Obviously, I don’t agree with that,” she reportedly said, “before darting into the Senate chamber,” according to the outlet.

Democrats who appeared in the video are all veterans of the armed forces or the CIA, including former astronaut Sen. Mark Kelly (D-Ariz.) Sen. Murkowski came to his defense in a post on X, blasting the administration’s “frivolous investigation” of the retired Navy captain.

“Senator Kelly valiantly served our country as an aviator in the U.S. Navy before later completing four space shuttle missions as a NASA astronaut. To accuse him and other lawmakers of treason and sedition for rightfully pointing out that servicemembers can refuse illegal orders is reckless and flat-out wrong,” the RINO wrote on X.

“The Department of Defense and FBI surely have more important priorities than this frivolous investigation,” Murkowski added.

Rep. Don Bacon of Nebraska, an Air Force veteran, has also condemned the reaction to the “seditious six” video.

“Amateur hour once again at the Department of Dense,” the Republican lawmaker posted on X Monday. “I thought the video by six Dems was unnecessary and foolish. But the threats of sedition charges and courts martial in response are also crazy. Let’s show some common sense and restraint.”

Trump advisor Stephen Miller, however, calls the issue an “open and shut” case.

“They should be held accountable under the law and under the Uniform Code of Military Justice for a seditious conspiracy against the United States of America,” he told Fox News host Jesse Watters on Tuesday. “This is completely open and shut. Straightforward.”

“What is the motivation? For what purpose would you ever deliver this message? Like you said, it’s to create a Color Revolution. It’s the CIA playbook for trying to foment insurrection within the military and within the CIA,” Miller said.
