Joy Reid’s conspiratorial take on the vice president’s marriage involving widow Erika Kirk and a supposed “MAGA fairytale” appeared to prove “Even their fantasies are racist.”
In case it wasn’t abundantly clear that outspoken Christian Vice President J.D. Vance presents a threat to the left on multiple fronts, one need only look at the baseless suppositions about the state of his marriage to his law school sweetheart, Usha Vance. Not only are they an interracial couple, but they are also interfaith, and neither appeared to sit well with the former MSNBC host who claimed the vice president was “throwin’ his wife under the bus.”
Appearing on the junior varsity version of “The View,” otherwise known as the “I’ve Had It” podcast, Reid added fuel to a fabricated fire previously discussed by the hosts, suggesting the Vances’ marriage was on the rocks with the wild notion that he was somehow involved with Charlie Kirk’s widow.
“So, they can’t have the successor to MAGA be the guy with the brown, Hindu wife. They’re also Christian nationalists,” said Reid as she wrapped a bigoted blanket around conservatives. “That ain’t gonna work. That’s why he’s throwin’ his wife under the bus. Poor Usha — or she’s in on it, right? And she’s wicked too?”
It was then that co-host Jennifer Welch interjected, “And playin’ slap and tickle with Erika Kirk. It’s the weirdest sh*t I’ve ever seen.”
Joy Reid pushes the deranged conspiracy theory that JD Vance is going to leave his wife for Erika Kirk:
“Rubbin on his head? Babyyyy… you in leatha pants?… Wouldn’t it be the most perfect MAGA fairy-tail if he finally sees the light that he needs a White Queen instead of this… pic.twitter.com/BFj4vmcsYT

Reid rolled with the prompt and continued, “Holdin’ on the back of his head and rubbin’ on his head. Baby! … You supposed to be a widow. You in leatha pants? That’s not widow wear.”
“Wouldn’t it be the most perfect fairytale, MAGA fairytale, if he finally sees the light that he needs a white queen instead of this brown Hindu. I mean, I’m not saying that’s happening or maybe that Usha’s not even in on it,” she added.
The latest attack on the Vances came as others had attempted to drum up a story over spotting the second lady without her wedding ring at an event earlier in November, before making a big deal about her wearing it at the White House’s annual Thanksgiving turkey pardon.

Similarly, critics had blasted the vice president when he’d spoken at a Turning Point USA event about his faith-based, sincere hope that one day the Holy Spirit would move his wife to Christianity with an experience akin to his own conversion.
Where it concerned Erika Kirk, who’d also drawn criticism for embracing Vance when he spoke at the event, she had appeared at an event with Megyn Kelly on Friday, who’d remarked about the widow being “an intense hugger!”
“My love language is touch,” noted Kirk, who went on to describe the scene. “They just played the emotional video. I’m walking over, [Vance’s] walking over. I’m starting to cry. He says, ‘I’m so proud of you.’ And I say, ‘God bless you,’ and I touch the back of his head.”
As she remarked about this being a common practice of hers, Kelly joked, “They were acting like you touched the back of his a**!”
“I feel like I wouldn’t get as much hate if I did that,” she laughed in response.
Meanwhile, reactions to Reid’s latest bitter commentary emphasized how Vance was clearly the current frontrunner, given that he is already facing attacks related to his faith and marriage. Likewise, Kirk was defended against those commentators Mary Katharine Ham dubbed “Puritan ministers with injectables.”
Even their fantasies are racist.
The only thing this scene needs is a cauldron.

It is even more disgusting because Erika has made clear that Usha has been a rock to her.

This is like an even more ghoulish version of the view

OMG, these ladies are insane and not in a good way.
Also, I don’t know anybody who has a problem with Usha Vance except for some Democratic pundits who keep pushing the narrative that she is a liability for JD Vance because of her religion and ancestry.— Jelka Croucher (@JelkaCroucher) November 25, 2025
