New exec dir of education group funded by liberal dark money was stern ‘defund the police’ advocate

A liberal dark money education group that supports indoctrinating children in racial essentialism and radical LGBT ideology has tapped a “defund the police” advocate to lead it.

Heather Harding, the new executive director for the Campaign for Our Shared Future, tweeted about defunding the police at least three times during the Black Lives Matter riots of 2020.

Look:

It appears she hasn’t tweeted about defunding the police since 2020. However, according to Fox News, she’s “deleted 2,588 tweets over the last week,” so it’s possible additional “defund the police” tweets were among the deleted.

What remains on her Twitter feed are tweets advocating for “equity,” an ideology that calls for equal outcomes, not equal opportunities.

In announcing her new position, in fact, she touted the group’s “fight for equity and inclusion in public education.”

Notice what she wrote about “negligent politicians.” She meant politicians like Gov. Ron DeSantis, who’s been fervent in fighting back against the indoctrination of children in racial essentialism and radical LGBT ideology.

The group Harding now leads, the Campaign for Our Shared Future, strongly believes in forcing such indoctrination on children.

For instance, the group opposes Florida’s Parental Rights in Education bill, which does nothing more than prevent teachers from exposing children in third grade and below to ideas related to sex and sexual identity:

The group also opposes efforts from the right to stop the teaching of racial essentialism.

Indeed, according to Politico, the group’s primary “goal” is to “[o]rganize parents, educators and students to press against conservative-led legislation and political rhetoric targeting how race, gender and curriculum are addressed at K-12 campuses.”

The conservative belief is that school should be about learning English, math, science, etc., not about being told certain races are oppressors and others are the oppressed, or being told that it’s perfectly fine to identify as another gender — if not species.

The left believes otherwise and has been hellbent on introducing radical ideologies into the classroom, which has, in turn, spawned a movement of conservative parents and politicians pushing back through legislation like the Parental Rights in Education bill.

The goal of the Campaign for Our Shared Future is to effectively thwart these efforts. And as is typical of left-wing groups like this, it’s a dark money outfit.

“City corporate records show the campaign’s branches were registered in early May by a nonprofit public charity known as the New Venture Fund and a social welfare organization called the Sixteen Thirty Fund. Those two entities are managed by Arabella Advisors, a firm founded by former Clinton administration appointee Eric Kessler that advises donors and nonprofits about where to give money,” according to Politico.

This setup, in turn, “allows the Campaign for Our Shared Future to operate without publicly disclosing its donors.”

In defending the group’s dark money status, Harding essentially accused dissenting parents — the types who’ve been showing up to school board hearings to speak out against indoctrination — of being white supremacists.

“We’re fully independent. But at this time, to be honest with you, the way that literal white supremacists are showing up threatening educators and families, we don’t want to put a target on the back of any of our donors,” she told Politico.
