California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s (D) apparent bid to leverage troops into a talking point for political gain found America’s Mayor splashing him with a cold dose of reality.
As terms like insurrection and color revolution were added to the coverage of protests and riots in Los Angeles — steadily being replicated in other cities — leftist leaders resorted to gaslighting about the “peaceful” exercise of the First Amendment in defense of staving off deportations of illegal aliens.
Playing politics with the chaos, Newsom’s lament about troops resting on the floor was readily dunked by former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani (R) with a reminder about the VIP treatment afforded to even killers and rapists who entered the country illegally.
The governor shared images of service members racked out with the caption, “You sent your troops here without fuel, food, water or a place to sleep. Here they are — being forced to sleep on the floor, piled on top of one another. If anyone is treating our troops disrespectfully, it is you @realDonaldTrump.”
In response, Giuliani wrote, “So why don’t you hook them all up with a hot meal, a hotel room, and some walk-around money? Just like you’re doing for illegals. Stop playing politics and get to work, Gavin! Besides, you’ll never be president… even if the Democrats cheat, it won’t be for you!”

Newsom’s aimed slight at President Donald Trump was part of a series of attempted potshots at those shining a light on the latest example of mismanagement and soft-on-crime policies in the once-Golden State.
Believed by many to be managing his brand ahead of an expected White House bid in 2028, the governor specifically responded to Trump, who asserted on Truth Social, “‘If they spit, we will hit.’ This is a statement from the President of the United States concerning the catastrophic Gavin Newscum inspired Riots going on in Los Angeles. The Insurrectionists have a tendency to spit in the face of the National Guardsmen/women, and others. These Patriots are told to accept this, it’s just the way life runs. But not in the Trump Administration.”
“IF THEY SPIT, WE WILL HIT, and I promise you they will be hit harder than they have ever been hit before,” continued the president. “Such disrespect will not be tolerated!”
Of course, Newsom’s ongoing commentary included the latest example of elected Democrats portraying themselves as above the law as he responded to Trump’s remarks about being open to the arrest of the governor by border czar Tom Homan, who reminded, “It’s a felony to knowingly conceal and harbor an illegal alien. It’s a felony to impede law enforcement from doing their job.”
“I would do it, if I was Tom,” said the president. “I think it’s great. Gavin likes the publicity, but I think it would be a great thing. He’s done a terrible job. Look, I like Gavin Newsom, he’s a nice guy. But, he’s grossly incompetent. Everybody knows.”
In response, Newsom reacted with a caption that was pinned to the top of his X feed at the time of this post, “The President of the United States just called for the arrest of a sitting Governor. This is a day I hoped I would never see in America. I don’t care if you’re a Democrat or a Republican this is a line we cannot cross as a nation — this is an unmistakable step toward authoritarianism.”

In addition to the fact that sitting governors have been arrested before, including then-Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich (D) in 2008, Giuliani added to a dogpile on Newsom that called out his anemic attempts at scoring political points while also making it obvious that he never served in the military.
So Governor Hair Grease….
Tell us you never served in the US military without telling us.

“How can you send troops to a place like California without massive provisions? Don’t you know we don’t have basic necessities like WATER in my state?”

if he’s so concerned about troop living conditions why does California have one of the largest populations of homeless veterans in America?

They are American troops and do whatever is needed to keep peace. If you did your job, they wouldn’t be needed.
