Maribel Duarte is suing the Los Angeles Unified School District for allegedly bribing her son into accepting the COVID-19 vaccine without her permission.
She is claiming that the vaccine has caused lingering side effects in her 13-year-old son, who attends the Barack Obama Preparation Academy. The young boy was allegedly given pizza in exchange for willingly taking the shot.
“He is not the same anymore. He is lacking rest. He doesn’t sleep well,” Duarte complained, according to local news station KTLA-5.
She says the doctor recommended against her son receiving the jab because of his medical conditions, including asthma and a bleeding disorder. However, she claims her son was pushed to forge her signature in order to obtain the vaccine, which she believes has led to an exacerbation of his issues.
“This is not a conspiracy theory. This is not an anti-vax case,” Nicole Pearson, Duarte’s attorney noted. “This is about parental rights (and) about having the ability to protect your children.”
Attempts to contact the school district have not been successful, Pearson noted, though a spokesperson from the district told the local station “they do not comment on threatened, pending or ongoing litigation matters.”

Bribing a minor to take a medical treatment w/o the parent’s consent or knowledge? Don’t care if they did it to get the kid to take a Motrin, that’s very wrong. Seems like he has damages too. Hope what they have to pay is punitive enough to deter this type of thing in the future.

Not the LAUSD that houses bad and criminal teaches in a separate facility away from students with full pay. LAUSD also states that student safety is not a good reason to seek a school district change… all this is allegedly by the way.
