The process of normalizing elections that aren’t decided for days if not weeks is underway with the New York Times explaining that it could take a while for the results to come in and warning about getting a “false impression” of the winner.
With the system now heavily slanted to where mail-in ballots are the determining factor as they were during the 2020 COVID-era election, barring a Trump landslide, Americans will be kept in suspense for an undetermined amount of time as the votes continue to be added to the totals, not exactly a way to bolster confidence in the democratic process.
“The hosts of election night parties may want to book a room for more than just one night,” writes columnist Nick Corasaniti. “For the second straight presidential election, it is becoming increasingly likely that there will be no clear and immediate winner on election night and that early returns could give a false impression of who will ultimately prevail.”

According to the paper, there’s nothing to be concerned about and it’s perfectly normal for the pivotal election in the nation’s history to drag on indefinitely, because of the “intense security measures required for counting mail-in ballots.”
“Election officials across the country are trying to telegraph to voters that waiting long hours or even days for a result is not unexpected in a close election. They are eager to counter conspiracy theorists who may seize on the uncertainty as evidence of fraud or malfeasance,” the column says, previewing the coming media demonization of people who have legitimate questions about an extended process and who may not be convinced that the election is on the up-and-up.
The paper explains early totals that showed Trump with big leads in 2020 as “the red mirage,” or “the result of far more Democrats than Republicans opting to vote by mail, leading to Democratic votes being recorded later.”

Preparing for another steal are we?

If a winner is not determined on election night it is a rigged Banana Republic system. Take that back, what we refer to as banana republics count the votes the same day. This then would reduce us to a developing territory. Shameful.

I disagree, third world countries are able to count ballots day of. The delay is due to cheating we must demand same day counting.

There was a clear winner in 2020 until the suspicious activity began

In other words, they’re going to attempt stealing it again.
It takes time to figure out how many more votes are required.

This is utter nonsense. Our elections have always had a winner announced on election night.
There’s no reason that it’s “suddenly” impossible to call a race – unless it’s cheating. Cheating is the obvious reason for delaying.

The race as the media insists, is going to be razor-close, a narrative that never would have been credible if Nancy Pelosi didn’t go to the extreme lengths of whipping up an internal coup to overthrow incumbent and presumptive nominee Joe Biden and install Harris, who has been sold to voters in an audacious propaganda campaign as a transformative figure who will usher in “a new way forward” after being the co-pilot of the unmitigated disaster of the last four years.
“The 2024 results are not expected to be as protracted as in 2020, when the race was not called for Mr. Biden until the Saturday after the election. Some states have improved their procedures for tabulating mail ballots, and election officials across the country have more experience with the process,” the paper states. “And mail voting rates, though still much higher than before the pandemic, have declined in some states since 2020, when many voters fearful of the coronavirus saw mail voting as the only option.”
