Outraged mom confronts school over registering minor daughter to vote, fearmongering about Trump

A furious Pennsylvania mother took to social media to call out her daughter’s school for forcing her to register to vote without her consent.

The mother of the 17-year-old blasted “Pittsburgh Public Schools” for allegedly pulling her daughter out of class and fear-mongering about electing former President Donald Trump which would spell “doom” for black people.

“My 17-year-old daughter was pulled out of class and told she needed to register to vote. Not only was she told how to register, she was told who she should vote for,” Kay Montana said in a now-viral TikTok video.

“Why would you all pull my daughter out of class and tell her who to vote for? I am her mother, and I have yet to have this conversation with her about the upcoming election,” Montana continued. “I have not signed any consent forms allowing my daughter to register to vote at school.”

With some time still to go before her daughter Nyla turns 18 on October 5th, the frustrated mother expressed how she needed to be the one guiding the teen on her first voting experience.

In screenshots provided by Montana, the conversation with her daughter via text messages revealed the details of what transpired and the student’s apparent unease about the situation.

“They made me register to vote today. I didn’t wanna, but they forced me. I said I’ll do it another time, but then she told me I had no choice, which I think is a lie. I’m not even 18 yet,” one message from the daughter reads, (edited for clarity).

“Who made you, and what party did you choose?” her mother asked.

“It was a she and Democrat,” her daughter replied, prompting Montana to ask further, “Did they tell you to pick that? And who was the lady?”

“I forgot her name. I’ll find out tomorrow, and yea, basically she kept saying how it would be bad if I picked Trump [because] of what he was doing to the Mexicans and stuff. I wasn’t [really] paying her no mind,” Nyla wrote.

Her mother expressed that she was “pissed” and called out the unnamed woman for filling her daughter’s “head with lies.”

“Yeah, she was definitely telling me all this bad stuff about Trump, saying us blacks are doomed and are gonna be done if they let Trump back in. I’m like, ‘Ma’am, please!’ ” the teen added, reiterating that she was told she had no choice but to complete the registration at that time.

“I’m calling up there tomorrow. This is total disrespect. If we vote for Kamala, we are doomed. She really tried to fill your head with lies,” her mother texted.

There was reportedly a recorded conversation with the school that showed the “minority inspector” trying to get information but not taking responsibility, calling the whole thing a misunderstanding while denying that the 17-year-old was told she had to register.

The heated confrontation included the teen who also contradicted the staff member’s version of what transpired. Ultimately, the inspector apologized for registering the student and directed the mother to make any changes she desired on the website.

“I’m taking my daughter out of this school. She doesn’t feel comfortable here anymore, and I don’t either. This is beyond unacceptable,” Montana said at the end of her video.

“The principal was sitting there the entire time. She did not say one word to me. The principal was there. So, yeah, she didn’t really have anything to say,” she added. “I’m still calling the Board of Education. No answer, no callback. So that’s pretty much where I’m at right now at this moment.”
