Paul Pelosi could get the boot, foundation threatens to revoke membership over DUI arrest details

While it remains to be seen if Paul Pelosi will suffer any legal consequences after his DUI arrest in May, his membership in a California law enforcement association is being reviewed after Pelosi presented a police privilege card after his 2021 Porsche collided with another vehicle.

The millionaire husband of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) appears to have violated established policy if he handed his California Highway Patrol 11-99 (CHP 11-99) Foundation member card to officers that night, as was reported.

The CHP 11-99 Foundation confirmed that it’s a violation of the group’s terms and conditions agreement for a member to bring its name or property into law enforcement contact, according to Fox News.

“The foundation noted the part of its policy which states that attempting to use membership in exchange for ‘preferential treatment’ in any contact with police will result in immediate termination,” the network reported.

Spokesperson Laura Reed told Fox News that the foundation is investigating the incident to determine the facts after it was reported in the media that Pelosi handed officers his driver’s license and an “11-99 Foundation” card when they asked for his ID.

“We will await the outcome of this trial and will evaluate Mr. Pelosi’s membership status once we have all of the facts,” Reed said. “If it is proven he violated our terms and conditions, we will revoke his membership and we would request that all membership items be returned as they are property of the 11-99 Foundation.”

“Once we receive those items, we would issue a refund of any contribution he’s made to the Foundation,” she continued.

The group’s website states that it was founded in 1982 to provide emergency assistance to California Highway Patrol employees and scholarships to their children.

“These cards are used to identify our members at various public and private events and to show pride in membership and support of the CHP,” Reed explained.

Pelosi didn’t bother showing up at his own arraignment hearing Wednesday, instead entering a not guilty plea on two charges — DUI causing injury and driving with a blood alcohol level of .08% or higher causing injury — through his lawyer for the Memorial Day weekend DUI.
