Pelosi says Supreme Court ‘dangerous’ to US families, blames ‘creature’ Donald Trump

Nancy Pelosi has said some things that make conservative Americans want to scream — plenty of them — but perhaps none of them have been as inflammatory and blatantly false than the things she said on CNN, Sunday, about the “dangerous” Supreme Court and its likely decision to overturn Roe v. Wade.

The House Speaker joined Dana Bash on “State of the Union” and completely misrepresented the anticipated SCOTUS decision in the wake of Justice Alito’s leaked opinion draft, while simultaneously hurling hyperbolic insults at the nation’s top judges, the former President of the United States, and anyone who dared to disagree with allowing abortions on demand.

Bash stated that many Democrats are currently angry because “conservatives have played the long game” with respect to Roe v. Wade.

“You know this,” Bash said. “They have said over and over for decades that this was their goal, to overturn Roe v. Wade, and that Democratic leaders should have seen this coming.”

“The point is,” Pelosi replied, “who would have ever suspected that a creature like Donald Trump would become President of the United States?”

Pelosi then set about bashing the “anti-freedom” Supreme Court justices Trump appointed when he was in office.

“Let’s not take our eye off the ball — the ball is this court which is dangerous to the freedoms of our country,” Pelosi claimed. “Beware in terms of marriage equality, beware in terms of other aspects of it … the fact is this is a dangerous court to families, to freedom, in our country.”

Pelosi then encouraged pro-abortion activists to “mobilize.”

“And that is why people have to mobilize,” she stated. “My saying is, ‘we don’t agonize, we organize.’ We go out there and make sure people know that … actually elections have consequences.”

The Speaker said she hoped the Supreme Court issue would be resolved by the midterm elections, but she emphasized that the here and now was currently more important.

“I think that this would have an impact on the elections, but right now I want everyone to just focus, just focus on what this does and what this means to you,” Pelosi urged.

Then she brazenly invoked her Catholic faith.

“When I say this as a practicing devout Catholic … I don’t disrespect people’s views and how they want to live their lives, but I don’t think it’s up to the Donald Trump appointees on the court or any politicians to make that decision for women.”

“And I just — I’ll say what I’ve been saying for decades,” Pelosi continued. “Understand this: This is not just about terminating a pregnancy.”

No, Nancy, it isn’t.

In fact, the case before the Supreme Court isn’t about terminating a pregnancy at all.

It’s about the Constitution, which clearly says that, because abortion is not a Constitutional right, the decision on whether or not to allow abortions is up to the states and the voters who live in them to decide, and no amount of hatred for Donald Trump or unsubstantiated smears against the Supreme Court justices will change that.
