FBI Director Kash Patel was slammed for what some suggested was feeding into conspiracy theories about the death of Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC), who suddenly and unexpectedly passed away over the weekend.
The Republican war hawk died on Saturday from “a brief and sudden illness,” his office said in a statement, “Senator Graham’s family appreciates prayers at this time and asks for privacy during this incredibly difficult period.” The longtime Palmetto State Senator was 71 years old.
Tributes to the deceased senator poured in on Sunday, with the FBI boss posting his condolences to social media, but it was the last line of Patel’s post that drew attention and criticism, for suggesting that something foul was afoot with the sudden death the day after he returned from Ukraine, where he toured a drone factory and met with Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Senator Lindsey Graham was a devoted public servant, a fierce defender of our nation, and a true patriot who dedicated his life to the people of South Carolina and the United States.
Our prayers are with his family, loved ones, colleagues, and all those who knew him during this…

“Senator Lindsey Graham was a devoted public servant, a fierce defender of our nation, and a true patriot who dedicated his life to the people of South Carolina and the United States,” he wrote in a post to X. “Our prayers are with his family, loved ones, colleagues, and all those who knew him during this devastating time.”
“The FBI is assisting local authorities and has made every necessary resource available,” Patel added.
The implication being that Graham did not die of natural causes despite preliminary findings by the Medical Examiner of the District of Columbia, who found that he died from “aortic dissection due to arteriosclerotic cardiovascular disease.”
X users ripped the embattled FBI chief over the post, which will only fuel the conspiracy theorists and those with agendas who wasted little time in fomenting paranoia that Graham may have been the victim of something sinister and nefarious.
I’m confused by this wording. Does the FBI usually offer “every necessary resource” to individuals who die of natural causes? Regardless of him being a senator, why is the FBI involved at all?

Is the FBI investigating Lindsey Graham’s death now? This seems reckless from Kash Patel. https://t.co/yNXY0201MF

Jesus Kash, this is so damn reckless. There’s absolutely no good reason for you to say this. But you desperately need attention and you can’t seem to get it through your head that it takes more than social media likes to be good at your job.
You need to resign immediately.

Kash Patel is such an attention whore, and he just can’t help himself. The end of this tweet is just going to make people speculate even more about what happened to Lindsey Graham last night. https://t.co/1mJNNx98Fr

Way to get the conspiracy theories rolling.

“An aortic dissection is a life-threatening condition that requires rapid diagnosis, as emergent surgery can be necessary. Subsequent decision-making is based on the location of the tear in the aorta and any associated poor blood flow to organs,” Thomas Jefferson University assistant professor of vascular surgery at Thomas Jefferson University Dr. Roberto Aru told ABC News.
“The death certificate will be PENDING until all the toxicological and microscopic testing are finalized, and at that point the death certificate will be updated to reflect the cause of death and appropriately classify the manner of death,” Graham’s office said.
