Former White House press secretary and current Arkansas gubernatorial candidate Sarah Huckabee Sanders announced on Friday that she had been diagnosed with thyroid cancer but is now “cancer-free.”
“During a check-up earlier this month, my doctor ordered a biopsy on an area of concern in my neck and the test revealed that I had thyroid cancer. Today, I underwent a successful surgery to remove my thyroid and surrounding lymph nodes and by the grace of God I am now cancer-free,” she said in a statement.
“I want to thank the Arkansas doctors and nurses for their world-class care, as well as my family and friends for their love, prayers, and support. I look forward to returning to the campaign trail soon. The experience has been a reminder that whatever battle you may be facing, don’t lose heart. As governor, I will never quit fighting for the people of our great state.”

According to Sanders’ doctor, John R. Sims, as of Friday she was “recovering from surgery.”
“I expect her to be back on her feet even within the next 24 hours. This is a Stage I papillary thyroid carcinoma which is the most common type of thyroid cancer and has an excellent prognosis,” the doctor said in his own statement.
“While she will need adjuvant treatment with radioactive iodine, as well as continued long term follow up, I think it’s fair to say she’s now cancer free, and I don’t anticipate any of this slowing her down,” he added.
Sanders’ announcement provoked the typical response from the left — hatred. To be fair, some leftists did wish her well. But many more didn’t. Instead they expressed glee over her being diagnosed with cancer but disappointment over her beating it.
Look:
So good he allowed her to have cancer! Praise be! Under his eye!

Why would your God save a piece of Turd, but let children die every day.

Others, meanwhile, zeroed in on her thanking “the grace of God” for her recovery and used it to act like she hates science.
FYI, Sanders has never once suggested she doesn’t believe in science. She has, however, made it clear she doesn’t believe in The Science™. As in The Science™ that is politically motivated and has nothing to do with actual science.
Nevertheless:
I would’ve thought it was by the grace of modern science…🤦🏼♀️

Thank science. Like vaccines.

It wasn’t your magical sky daddy who saved you, it was SCIENCE. Doctors, people who actually exist.
— HBSammy (@heatherjb23) September 17, 2022
Well, I am glad to hear you are cancer free now. But when will you start being intellectual? It was Science that helped you beat cancer, not God.

Lol. If it was by the grace of god, why did you undergo all of that medical treatment? Why didn’t you just stay at home and pray? Because at the end of the day you knew god wasn’t going to do shit and you needed the help of modern medicine and science

The last batch of leftists shamed Sanders for having private healthcare insurance and implied that everybody else is fated to just die if they contract cancer.
Never mind the existence of both Obamacare and Medicaid, two government programs that help low-income Americans secure needed healthcare.
Look:
Why do you deny healthcare to others? Do you think you are better than them or more deserving of life saving assistance?
— Someday Soon (@RecentlyJaded) September 17, 2022
Imagine the people that don’t have access to healthcare that aren’t as lucky as you but I’m sure thoughts and prayers will let them beat Cancer!
— Scott (@lynchscott41) September 17, 2022
Happily she had government-provided healthcare, the best there is
…wonder if this will help her embrace socialism for the rest of us
— wjn3tweets (@wjn3tweets) September 17, 2022
Even though it’s against the odds in her political party, it would be really nice if she could humble herself and acknowledge that the majority of people in her state as well as the rest of the country do not have access to healthcare promptly and efficiently as she does.….

@SarahHuckabee
Time to reflect on your own struggle.Do you wish other people like you die because they have no health care insurance?
You did not want it. They didn’t either.
Give life.
Vote for healthcare insurance.Or be damn.

News of Sanders’ diagnosis (and recovery) comes only weeks after former President Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner published a memoir in which he revealed that he’d been treated for thyroid cancer in 2019.
“On the morning that I traveled to Texas to attend the opening of a Louis Vuitton factory, White House physician Sean Conley pulled me into the medical cabin on Air Force One. Your test results came back from Walter Reed,’ he said. ‘It looks like you have cancer. We need to schedule a surgery right away,'” he wrote.
He added that a NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital doctor “concluded that I needed surgery to remove an unusual growth in my thyroid, and we scheduled the operation for the Friday before Thanksgiving.”
“That way, I would miss the least amount of time in the office. My absence might even go unnoticed. That’s how I wanted it,” he added.
And indeed, not until the release of the memoir three years later did the public even learn of his cancer diagnosis and treatment.
