Things got a little uncomfortable on CNN when conservative commentator Scott Jennings had to reprimand co-panelist Bakari Sellers for touching him during a discussion on grocery prices.
Sellers was distorting President-elect Donald Trump’s remarks about it being hard to lower prices, claiming Trump was lying about lowering prices.
“Let me just clearly state what he lied about, just so we’re on the same page here, all right? During the campaign, Donald Trump said that he was going to bring prices down. Today, he simply said, you know what, those prices, particularly grocery prices, are not going to come down,” Sellers said.
Host Abby Phillip made no effort to correct Sellers or point out what Trump actually said during his Time Magazine interview, which is seen here: “It’s hard to bring things down once they’re up. You know, it’s very hard… But I think that they will. I think that energy is going to bring them down.”
“Scott was actually 50 percent correct in that Democrats did not do a good job in telling our story. We did not do a good job of addressing the pain that Americans felt,” Sellers added, pointing out that Democrats falsely claimed inflation was transitory.
“What Scott was not accurate about — which kind of happens around the table sometimes,” he added while reaching out to touch Jennings, who was seated next to him.
Scott Jennings tells Bakari Sellers, “Don’t touch me,” after Sellers puts his hand on Jennings.
Sellers then proceeds to touch Jennings more and wrongly say how inflation isn’t a result of Biden’s policies.

“Don’t touch me,” Jennings quickly countered.
Continuing to touch Jennings on his back, Sellers laughed awkwardly while replying, “I can‘t touch you now?”
“Alright, everybody keep your hands to yourselves at the table,” Phillip interjected.
“But one of the things Scott was not accurate about, though, was the reason why we have inflation in the first place. This is not Joe Biden’s policy,” Sellers said, prompting Jennings to quickly correct the record, “Yes it is!”
Here’s a quick sampling of responses to the story, as seen on X:
Scott knew he was disingenuous with that shoulder pat. Calling Scott a liar and patting him on the shoulder at the same time is crazy.

The only thing interesting about CNN is Scott Jennings.

They are so used to not being challenged that they can’t handle it. They live in an echo chamber, a bubble if you will. They don’t take kindly to having that Bubble Burst. They are a bunch of intellectual pansies whose first reaction is violence against anyone who doesn’t agree…

Besides the condescension, the stupidity of Sellers saying this is not Biden’s economy.
Nearly 4 yrs into his term and it’s not his?

Jennings looks like he is running out of patience and I can’t blame him. It must be exhausting having those conversations and he has probably gotten that condescending pat in the back more than he cares for.

Yeah we are not creating revisionist history. He spent a ridiculous amount of money giving additional stimulus money and that fake inflation reduction act and then Ukraine, Ukraine, Ukraine.

Classic CNN, lecturing with arrogance and then acting surprised when someone sets boundaries.
Scott Jennings handled it perfectly, ‘Don’t touch me’ is the energy we need against their condescension.
