Shock poll shows alarming number of young people have favorable view of Sharia law

Not only are a growing number of young Americans embracing socialism, but many also have a favorable view of Sharia law, according to the shocking results of a new poll.

In the survey conducted by Rasmussen Reports and Our Republic, a stunning 43 percent of those between the ages of 18 and 24 expressed positive feelings for Islamic religious law, which subjugates women and calls for cruel and unusual forms of punishment straight out of the dark ages.

The poll was based on the results of a national telephone and online survey that was conducted Sept. 20 and released earlier this month, just weeks before voters go to the polls for what is arguably the most important midterm elections in the nation’s history.

While the survey found that 21 percent overall had a “somewhat positive opinion” of the rigid Islamic religious legal doctrine, 43 percent of those in the younger age group are down with Sharia – a generation that will very soon be in positions of influence and power within government and other institutions.

Respondents older than 40 have a decidedly different opinion, with just 16 percent viewing Islamic theocratic law positively.

According to Rasmussen: “A similar trend is apparent on other questions. For example, 83% of all Likely Voters oppose allowing sharia to become the legal code for everyone in an American town, city, or state, even if a majority of residents wanted it. However, 27% of voters under 30 would support allowing a community to adopt sharia under those circumstances, compared to just two percent (2%) of those 40 and older who would support such a proposal.”

“These results reveal a striking generational divide in Americans’ attitudes toward sharia,” said Our Republic president and senior fellow Justin Haskins.

X users shared their takes on the shock poll, with one suggesting: “Let them go to Iran & live under it for only 6 months. That will change their minds!”

“Well that indicates the current level of young voters political intelligence,” another remarked.

The younger generation’s warm and fuzzy vibes about Islamic law come amid a rise in anti-Israel, anti-Western sentiment among the political left and the Democratic Party, which is being slowly taken over by the radicals with a series of primary victories by democratic socialist candidates heralding the new breed of politicians who appeal to gullible youth.

One of the most closely watched midterm races is in Michigan, where Democrat candidate Abdul El-Sayed has a good chance of becoming the nation’s first Muslim senator despite his history of controversial statements and relationship with bomb-throwing Muslim radical streamer Hasan Piker.

“The partisan divide is also remarkable. A plurality of Democrats say America’s alliance with Israel poses a greater threat to the country’s future than sharia law. These findings show just how dramatically attitudes toward sharia, Israel, and traditional American institutions differ across generations and political groups,” Haskins said of the poll.
