‘Something is broken in our culture’: Data predicts nearly half of women to be single, childless by 2030

Data on an increasing trend among women proved “extremely concerning” to Elon Musk amid cries that “Something is broken in our culture.”

As the norms of old have been demonized as the antiquated ideals of boomers and traditionalism was labeled the stuff of counterculture, the indelible mark of radical feminism has grown increasingly pronounced. Saturday, the world’s richest man and father of a dozen children voiced alarm over a report that suggested nearly half of American women be both single and childless by the end of the decade.

“This is extremely concerning!!” reacted Musk as the X account Wall Street Silver shared a headline, “45% of Women Estimated to be Single and Childless by 2030,” with the caption, “Something is broken in our culture. Why is this happening?”

Within the article, Mark Higley wrote, “Sadly, many women have adopted the modern feminist lifestyle and have chosen to sleep around, abort their baby if they unexpectedly get pregnant, and swear off marriage. But these cultural trends are going to have a tremendous impact on the future of American society.”

Chiding proponents of promiscuity and championing of the girl boss wasn’t left to opinion as the article harkened back to a 2019 piece from Morgan Stanley where economist Ellen Zentner had noted, “In the past, education or lower-paying occupational choices largely drove the pay gap. Today, motherhood is by far the largest contributor to the wage gap, since women who become mothers often choose to stop working or work fewer hours.”

Data projected the number of single women in the U.S. was expected to increase from 2018 through 2030 by 1.2% annually as with the “positive linkage between gender diversity and economics” so too came the estimate that roughly 45% of women aged 25- to 45-years-old were expected to be both single and childless by the popular milestone for globalist agendas.

“These shifting lifestyle norms are enabling more women, with or without children, to work full time, which should continue to raise the labor force participation rate among single females,” said Zentner.

Of course, while the career-minded would see this as a victory against glass ceilings and the patriarchy, the losses not only meant concern over population decline, but also concern for the mental health of society writ large.

Though the data did not delve into the growing trend of young people to identify with some letter within the alphabet soup of rainbow activism, it did point to a 2020 study from Cambridge University that looked at unmarried women in Algeria and found emotional problems were greater for those who had not embarked on starting a family.

The study found “depressive symptoms in 17%, which can evolve toward psychotic depression as dysthymia (loss of interest in daily activities, hopelessness, low self-esteem, self-criticism, trouble concentrating and trouble making decisions, effectiveness and productivity, avoidance of social activities, feelings of guilt…” and more.

Meanwhile, as leftists challenged the likes of Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker for espousing his Catholic beliefs that urge young men and women to embrace vocations as husbands and wives as well as fathers and mothers, social media users tacked on to Musk’s concern calling for a resurgence of the family.

As Higley wrote, “The bedrock of any healthy society is the nuclear family, and it’s sad to think that we will see fewer and fewer families in the future — which of course means fewer children and happily married couples. Meanwhile, young women in their ‘prime working years’ devote themselves to a career and a boss who doesn’t truly care about them, have promiscuous sex that has a negative impact on their mental health, and miss out on the true, lifelong fulfillment that comes with being a wife and mother.”
