A century-old water main burst in Los Angeles, causing massive flooding that shut down numerous roads.
But leave it to Spencer Pratt, the man who saw success in the mayoral primary stolen from him, to find the “bright side” of the disaster.
A ruptured line near Sunset and Holloway Drive released thousands of gallons of water, flooding local businesses before city crews were able to stop the flow. Mayor Karen Bass visited the site, blaming aging infrastructure instead of her incompetence. According to the Democrat, that ruptured pipe was slated for a $280 million replacement in another five years or so.

The extent of the damage can be seen in the video below capturing the flooding aftermath:

Pratt, who lost his Pacific Palisades home in the devastating 2025 California wildfires, took to X to offer this sarcastic expression: “Look at the bright side…at least this is one day where you won’t have to smell human pee on the sidewalks!”

His perspective gains a better understanding when considering he decided to challenge Bass because of her handling of the disaster and for the city’s problems with homelessness and crime — Pratt ran as an outsider motivated by personal tragedy and anger over what he saw as incompetence, corruption, and lack of accountability.
Here’s a quick sampling of the responses to the story, as seen on X:
Great silver lining.

IDK if that’s enough water to clean off all the piss & poo Karen Bass has allowed to be deposited on the streets of LA. If the water flows like that for a week – maybe.

This is nothing; it happens almost every day. What is shown here is one of the larger water main breaks.
