Hunter Biden’s lawyers have requested and been granted a meeting with federal prosecutors to discuss their ongoing investigation into his criminal activities.
“Defense lawyers for Hunter Biden are set to meet next week with the U.S. attorney in Delaware and at least one senior Justice Department official,” The Wall Street Journal reported Friday, citing people familiar with what’s happening.
The Journal, which broke the story Friday, notes that the “Justice Department routinely agrees to such meetings with defense lawyers in criminal investigations,” and so there’s nothing necessarily unusual about the meeting.
Though this hasn’t stopped critics from speculating otherwise:
I’m surprised they didn’t meet on the tarmac like with Loretta Lynch

It sounds more like a “Love Fest” to me. I know who’s bringing the dope and the hookers.

Most likely they will discuss how best to bury the problem. I sincerely doubt any criminal activity will be investigated, and even if they do investigate, nothing will happen.

Predicting the outcome of this meeting. “After extensive discussion this little group decided there is insufficient evidence to charge anyone, but the public can rest assured the investigation will continue at least until after the next presidential election”

In fairness to critics, approval for the meeting comes only days after an unnamed IRS supervisor’s lawyer sent a letter to Congress accusing the Biden administration of mishandling the investigation into President Joe Biden’s youngest son.
“The attorney for an unnamed IRS criminal supervisory special agent says his client has asked Congress for protections to speak out about allegations that a years-long, high-profile and politically sensitive investigation has been hindered by ‘preferential treatment and politics,'” according to CBS News.
“My client wants to come forward to Congress. He’s ready to be questioned about what he knows and what he experienced under the proper legal protections,” attorney Mark Lytle wrote in the letter.
“Political considerations were having an impact on the decision for agents to make investigative steps in the case. And those political considerations are not normally a part of a career investigator’s toolkit,” he added.
In the letter, Lytle reportedly claims the unnamed IRS supervisor has information that would “contradict sworn testimony to Congress by a senior political appointee.”
Speaking with CBS News, Lytle added that his client has worked for the IRS for over a decade and has extensive documentation to back up his allegations.
“It really doesn’t come down to his credibility, whether you believe him or not. Because the things he’s been through are very well documented in emails, and other communications with the Department of Justice,” the attorney said.

In response to the IRS whistleblower’s allegations, Hunter Biden’s attorney, Chris Clark, has cried foul and accused the whistleblower of committing a crime.
“It appears this IRS agent has committed a crime. It is a felony for an IRS agent to improperly disclose information about an ongoing tax investigation,” Clark told NBC News in a statement.
“The IRS has incredible power, and abusing that power by targeting, embarrassing, or disclosing information about a private citizen’s tax matters undermines Americans’ faith in the federal government. Unfortunately, that is what has happened and is happening here in an attempt to harm my client.”
Meanwhile, House Oversight Committee chair James Comer, a Republican, responded to the letter with deep concern.
“It’s deeply concerning that the Biden Administration may be obstructing justice by blocking efforts to charge Hunter Biden for tax violations. We’ve been wondering all along where the heck the DOJ and the IRS have been. Now it appears the Biden Administration may have been working overtime to prevent the Bidens from facing any consequences,” he said in a statement.
Separately, House Ways and Means Committee chair Jason Smith released a statement saying his panel looks forward “to sitting down promptly with this individual to better understand the scope and detail of the concerns raised.”
“The Committee takes seriously any allegations of misconduct by government officials or offices and will, on behalf of American taxpayers, look into concerns that are brought to our attention,” he added.
Congress needs to hear from the Hunter Biden whistleblower immediately – give this person protection and put him under oath
