Terrified Eric Swalwell whines Trump may ‘dissolve’ Congress BUT worry not, he has a plan

Failure to sell a “constitutional crisis” had one lawmaker peddling a new narrative over President Donald Trump’s success that prompted reactions of, “This is what panic looks and sounds like.”

Truly emphasizing the disconnect between establishment politicians and the American people, California Rep. Eric Swalwell (D) saw fit to share a struggle session with the administration while being chauffeured. The nearly 12-minute rant primarily reacting to Kash Patel’s confirmation as director of the FBI included a claim that the president would “dissolve” Congress and how the left should respond.

Gaining millions more views as a viral post being mocked than on his own TikTok, Swalwell decried Patel’s confirmation as “Pretty f*cking unbelievable” as he also slammed the confirmations of Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and “anti-vaxxer” Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

The congressman’s suggestion on how to combat Trump’s continuing to staff his administration to fulfill the mandate from voters included a suggestion the president would take authoritarian steps to move forward.

“He may defy some of these orders. He may shut down the government and then just dissolve Congress and say I don’t even need Congress if my own Republicans can’t pass a budget. I’m just gonna be the government. He will be lawless because that is who he is…that’s how he’s wired, it’s in his DNA,” argued Swalwell.

Promoting groups like Marc Elias’ Democracy Docket who’ve been filing lawsuits to obstruct the administration, the California legislator emphasized that the corporate media-coordinated claim of a “constitutional crisis” had failed spectacularly, but spun the reason by saying, “Donald Trump is a living, breathing constitutional crisis. So we can’t use that phrase anymore because it’s just Donald Trump is president.”

He also delivered an argument about the nearing deadline on government spending as he asserted that questions about a pending shutdown were “bullsh*t.”

“The government is shut down right now,” said Swalwell. “Don’t accept any framing that the Democrats are shutting down the government. These guys are shutting it down right now.”

In addition to calling for more lawfare against the administration, the congressman turned to the importance of the 2026 midterms which he claimed would be a “rigged environment” if blue state leaders didn’t step in to stop voter rolls from being cleaned up.

“What are you doing to maximize access to the polls?” he lamented while suggesting a bias was being applied in correcting voter rolls instead of simply making sure only people eligible to vote were included. He also proposed a way to get those who might be less inclined to stick around with new legislation where residents would get paid for their time if they had spent more than 30 minutes waiting to vote.

Meanwhile, many couldn’t even stick it out for the whole video as those who tried asserted he was really in a “panic” over what his own future looked like with people like Patel and Attorney General Pam Bondi at the Justice Department.
