Fox News host Trey Gowdy hammered Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) for ousting Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) as Speaker of the House while taking great delight in “hacking Republicans.”

The former Republican South Carolina representative did not hold back when it came to Gaetz while speaking with “Fox & Friends” about the turmoil engulfing conservatives.
Eight Republicans joined with Democrats on Tuesday in a motion to vacate McCarthy. A historic 216-210 vote removed him as speaker.
Gowdy claimed it all came about because Gaetz had a “personal vendetta” against the California Republican.
“He’s had a personal vendetta against Kevin. I was there when he got there. He’s had a personal vendetta. I’m not a psychiatrist, I can’t tell you why he can’t stand to see others succeed,” Gowdy bluntly stated to the panel.
Trey Gowdy spewing his contempt for Gaetz’s ousting of Mccarthy only affirms the decay of the Republican party.

The former federal prosecutor slammed Gaetz for previously defending former Democratic California Rep. Katie Hill who was the reason that the term “throuple” was coined as she reportedly had affairs with a number of her staffers as well.
Gowdy also hit Gaetz for defending Squad member Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-Wash.), after reports in 2021 alleged that she had mistreated her staff.
He then went on to assert that the Florida congressman had a “crush” on Democratic Socialist and Squad member Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.)
“Matt Gaetz defended Katie Hill, remember who gave us the term ‘throupling,’ he defended her, he defended congresswoman Jayapal, he’s got a crush on AOC, but yet . I can’t tell you the psychiatric diagnosis, I can just tell you it is dangerous for the Republican Party,” Gowdy said, taking a swipe at Gaetz over McCarthy.

Gowdy also tore into the seven other Republicans who voted to give McCarthy the boot as speaker. He asserted that McCarthy fell victim to the whims of “the eight craziest people in the conference.” He made it very evident he had little use for the Squad of Eight.
“How in the world do you govern that gallery of rogues?” he asked the co-hosts.
“McCarthy said he would not seek the speakership again, setting up a battle in the House Republican Conference. House Republicans plan on voting for a new House speaker on Oct. 11, meaning the body will be without its constitutionally mandated leader,” the Washington Examiner reported.
Speaker Pro Tempore Patrick McHenry (R-NC) will wield the gavel for now but a number of Republicans are being considered to take McCarthy’s place.
“Republicans considering taking up the speaker’s gavel include House Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-LA), Rep. Kevin Hern (R-OK), and Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH). A candidate forum is scheduled to be held on Oct. 10 for the House GOP, ahead of the conference deciding whom to nominate for speaker,” according to the Washington Examiner.
