Trump escalates war with Massie, ‘the worst Republican Congressman,’ seeks replacement to back

President Donald Trump took a shot at an incumbent lawmaker as “the worst Republican Congressman” in a social media post.

Trump called out Rep. Thomas Massie, R-Ky., on Truth Social, adding that he is on the lookout for “someone good” to challenge and replace him in the U.S. House of Representatives.

“Thomas Massie, the worst Republican Congressman, and an almost guaranteed NO VOTE each and every time, is an Embarrassment to Kentucky,” Trump wrote.

“He’s lazy, slow moving, and totally disingenuous – A real loser!” the president continued, sparing no criticism for the Kentucky lawmaker who has been at odds with Trump on several key issues, including opposing the One Big Beautiful Bill Act and the bombing of Iran’s nuclear sites.

“Never has anything positive to add. Looking for someone good to run against this guy, someone I can Endorse and vigorously campaign for!” Trump concluded.

His post linked to a video clip from an account labeled “FireThomasMassie” and featured a voiceover contending Massie was voting with “radical Democrats.”

Massie, for his part, believes any such effort will “backfire tremendously.”

Trump allies are “wasting millions of dollars against me, and they’re gonna lose the majority because of that,” he told NBC News reporter Sahil Kapur.

Last month, Trump lashed out at Massie, who “is not MAGA,” and added in a Truth Social post, “we will have a wonderful American Patriot running against him in the Republican Primary, and I’ll be out in Kentucky campaigning really hard.”

Massie, who represents Kentucky’s 4th Congressional District, has undertaken an effort to get the administration to release files related to Jeffrey Epstein.

“I think this is the referendum on leadership,” Massie said on Monday, referring to House Speaker Mike Johnson.

“Who’s he gonna pick? Is he going to stand with the pedophiles and underage sex traffickers? Or is he gonna pick the American people and justice for the victims? This is the ultimate decision the speaker needs to make. And it’s irrespective of what the president wants,” he added, according to Punchbowl News.

Johnson fired back, pointing out that Massie could have pursued the Epstein case anytime duing the last administration but chose not to.

“Bless his heart,” he said.
