President Donald Trump was in Florida over the weekend where he spoke with NASCAR drivers and took a lap around the track at the Daytona 500.
The president not only flew over the Daytona International Speedway on Sunday, but his motorcade took a lap around the track as he delivered a message to drivers whom he also made time to meet during the annual race.

“This is your favorite president,” Trump was heard from a speaker as his motorcade drove over the track. “I’m a big fan. I’m a really big fan of you people, and you do this. I don’t know, but I just want you to be safe. You’re talented people and you’re great people and great Americans. Have a good day, have a lot of fun and I’ll see you later.”

“From the roar of the engines on the track to the echo of ‘The Star-Spangled Banner’ soaring through the stands, the Daytona 500 is a timeless tribute to the speed, strength, and unyielding spirit that make America great,” the president said in a message from Air Force One. “That spirit is what will fuel America’s Golden Age, and if we harness it, the future is truly ours.”
Ahead of the lap around the track, the president – with his granddaughter alongside – said he was happy to be back at the race which he last attended in 2020.
“I think it’s fantastic. It’s great for the country. Our country is doing well again,” he said.
“What brings you back to The Great American Race?”
