VP Kamala Harris mistakenly implies Ukraine is in NATO in latest embarrassing gaffe

Following a visit to Poland fraught with faux pas, Vice President Kamala Harris has returned home and reaffirmed the United States’ support of “the Ukrainian people in defense of the NATO alliance.”

No, Kamala… Ukraine is not a part of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, and were it to join now, it would likely signal the start of World War III.

Harris was speaking before the Democratic National Committee in Washington D.C. when she triggered the latest round of collective facepalms.

“The ocean that separates us will not leave us untouched by this aggression,” Harris continued, adding that “unity” was the message she delivered in Poland.

“When I was meeting with our allies, I emphasized that the greatest strength that we share is unity, especially at this moment as we stand together in defense of democracy and stand together in defense of each other,” she said. “Everything you are watching on television I know makes you understand and feel the importance of this moment on many levels.”

Sending Kamala Harris anywhere to represent the United States during a time of international crisis was enough to raise a few eyebrows.

“If you watch Kamala Harris, how could you send her anywhere?” Newt Gingrich asked Fox News’s Maria Bartiromo. “She is such an example of weakness and ignorance that having her in Poland and Romania weakens, it doesn’t strengthen, the Western alliance.”

And while in Poland, the vice president did not disappoint.

At one point, Harris seemed to need to check both her notes and her feet to ascertain her current location.

In another bizarre moment, when asked a complex question about the Ukraine refugee crisis and whether the U.S. “is willing to make a specific allocation for Ukrainian refugees,” Harris stared blankly at Polish President Andrzej Duda before cackling inappropriately and joking about “a friend in need.”

Harris’s latest gaffe in front of the DNC has drawn yet another wave of ridicule.

“We know the Biden Camp wanted to edge Kamala out of the political picture,” tweeted Epoch Times contributor Jeff Carlson. “Looks like they figured an easy way to do it. Just send her on a Foreign Policy mission to Poland & Romania and then let her talk about it in front of the entire DNC…”

Dan McLaughlin, senior writer for the National Review, asked incredulously, “Does she… think Ukraine is in NATO?”

Many users echoed the sentiments.

“Are they now trying to make Biden look better by dumbing Kamala Harris down further?” asked one user who added, “Sh*t. Think it’s working.”

Another tweeted: “Just as Joe Biden is making Jimmy Carter’s bungling look moderate, Kamala Harris and her constant gaffes and cackling are making former VP Dan Quayle look really good by comparison.”

“Everyday is a new gaffe like this,” lamented a third. “At least Biden’s gaffes are just from being an old guy not being so [completely] clueless like this.”
