‘When the Molly hits’: Mysterious daredevil on phone casually hopping around awnings of NYC high rise

Spiderman has nothing on a daredevil dressed in business attire, who was seen traversing awnings on top of a Lower Manhattan high rise.

The man appears to be talking on his cell phone as he begins jumping from one awning to the next in the Financial District, as seen in a now-viral video. After crossing much of the building’s exterior, he casually opens a window and climbs inside like it was just a walk in the park.

But for those observing, it was a bit more dramatic, given how high up he was.

Remarkably, the stunt was caught on video and shared on Instagram by Emmy Award-winning film director Erik Ljung, who explains that this was already going on before the video started.

“Been getting a lot of questions… I have no idea what dude was doing,” Ljung wrote. “He was already hopping around from awning to awning when we first saw him. First from right of frame to left. Got to corner where o started filming (2nd slide), looks like he made a call and looked around for about a minute, then hopped back in the direction he came when we first saw him and then climbed in a window. It was wet out and he was wearing dress shoes. We were all watching like . This is right next to the 911 memorial on West St.”

“When the Molly hits,” someone is heard observing in the background, as the mystery man is being recorded.
