While expectations are not all that high for President Biden’s affirmative action spokesperson, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre still finds ways to disappoint and that’s precisely what she did Monday when asked about the president’s “level of concern about the potential rise of antisemitism in light of everything that’s going on in Israel?”
In fact, her response was so pitiful that it prompted criticism from a Democratic lawmaker.
“So a couple of things. Look, we have not seen any credible threats,” Jean-Pierre claimed. “I know there’s been always questions about credible threats. And so just want to make sure that that’s out there.”
After flat-out dismissing any concerns about antisemitic behavior, despite a week’s worth of pro-Palestine protests across America that have been punctuated with anti-Jewish actions, the first openly gay black woman to serve as press secretary had the temerity to speak about threats against Muslims.
“But look, Muslims and those perceived to be Muslim have endured a disproportionate number of hate-fueled attacks,” she continued. “And certainly, President Biden understands that many of our Muslim, Arab American and Palestinian American loved ones and neighbors are worried about the hate being directed at their communities — that is something you heard the president speak to in his address just last Thursday.”
“What is [Biden’s] level of concern right now about a potential rise of antisemitism?”

KJP went on to note that Biden directed Homeland Security “to prioritize prevention and disruption of any emerging threats that could harm the Jewish, the Muslim, Arab American or any other communities.”
U.S. Rep. Jared Moskowitz (D-FL) took to X to blast Biden’s spokesperson for her “weak answer.”
“What a weak answer. And why are you looking in the book? What’s the approved answer? The simple answer is yes, you are concerned about the rise of antisemitism. Of course we are also worried about hatred against Muslim Americans. Must do better,” the Democrat tweeted.
Responding to criticism of her response, Jean-Pierre would later tweet: “To be clear: the President and our team are very concerned about a rise in antisemitism, especially after the horrific Hamas terrorist attack in Israel.”
Here’s a quick sampling of responses to the story from X, beginning with conservative personality Dave Rubin, who tweeted: “Even for this half-assed muppet, this answer is truly mind numbing…”
