AOC drops gem about giving election-winning NYC lefties ‘the opportunity to occupy their beliefs’

Tuesday’s results of the New York primary that saw a trio of radical left-wing candidates sweep to victory over two incumbent Democrats stunned observers, but a certain prominent congresswoman is saying to just give socialism a chance.

Of the three winners who were all endorsed by “kingmaker” New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, it is political newcomer Darializa Avila Chevalier who’s getting the most attention for her anti-Israel, anti-American, and anti-ICE viewpoints, and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) defended the all but certain future House colleague.

AOC sat down with former Biden regime spox Jen Psaki on MS NOW to discuss the primary that has sent shockwaves through the political system, and when asked about some of Chevalier’s more extreme takes and actions, the Dem diva declined to criticize the far-left firebrand.

“She has indicated that she has regret over the way that she made – issued those statements,” Ocasio-Cortez began. “And, I genuinely believe that the gravity and the responsibility of this role has a way of inhabiting you.”

“And, I genuinely believe that we have to give people the opportunity to occupy their beliefs within the gravity of becoming a duly elected member of Congress,” she said.

AOC’s take was mocked by X users, some of whom suggested that it was so loopy that she was veering into the territory of Kamala Harris, the former vice president and failed 2024 presidential candidate who has few equals when it comes to the art of serving up incoherent word salads.

Constitutional law expert and Fox News contributor Professor Jonathan Turley uncorked this jewel.

“AOC appears to be morphing into Kamala Harris: When asked about Democrat Socialist Darializa Avila Chevalier’s extremist views, she responded: ‘We have to give people the opportunity to occupy their beliefs within the gravity of becoming a duly elected member of Congress.’ Ridley Scott said it more succinctly, ‘In space, no one can hear you scream,'” Turley wrote, a reference to the “Alien” movie franchise tagline.

“I went through the same thing. I was met with so much hostility & cruelty by the Democratic caucus….I think it’s important to not issue a verdict before they arrive,” Ocasio-Cortez also said, recalling the reception that she initially received when coming to Congress, although Chevalier is such an extreme commie that she makes the “Squad” leader look like Margaret Thatcher.
