In defending billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk from Democrat Sen. Elizabeth Warren’s recent attacks, aspiring Republican senator Blake Masters has decided to cunningly play the race card.

Speaking on Fox News’ “Tucker Carlson Tonight” late Tuesday, he excoriated Warren for her racism. Yes, racism. For, you see, Musk was born in South Africa, meaning that he’s technically an African American, or so some say.

Masters made the unusual observation while speaking out about House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s refusal to stop trading stocks. Asked by host Tucker Carlson what this means, Masters said plainly that it’s a hallmark sign of the deep-rooted corruption that extends throughout the whole party.

“It tells us that she’s really corrupt, and unfortunately the problem goes so far deeper. It’s not just Pelosi. It’s so many left-wing Democrats. They’re corrupt and they’re hypocritical, so much so that there are terms for this: champagne socialist, limousine liberal,” he said.

It’s at this point that Masters, who’s seeking to represent Arizona in the U.S. Senate, brought up Warren and Musk.

“Look at Elizabeth Warren, who’s in the news this week for attacking our country’s richest African-American entrepreneur, a successful businessman who’s on track to pay 12 billion dollars in taxes this year. I’m talking about Elon Musk, of course,” he said.

This triggered Carlson into a fit of laughter:

“And Elon has done more this week for America than Elizabeth Warren will do in her lifetime. And she has the nerve to criticize him? So I’m just sick and tired of this, and if you’re sick and tired of it, if you’re watching at home, you’re sick and tired of the corruption in D.C., help send me into the U.S. Senate,” Masters concluded.

Clever, no? However, the credit for this idea goes to the social media users who’ve been bandying it about for around a week or so:

The idea started spreading after far-left MSNBC host Joy Reid, a black woman born in Brooklyn, rushed to Warren’s defense last week after Musk committed the apparent crime of standing up for himself.

“Elon wasn’t happy, so he did what he always did, and stomped his little feet and insulted Senator Warren, calling her an ‘angry mom’ and referring to her as Senator Karen,” she complained.

“So for so many reasons — being a freeloader, and a selfish and disrespectful one, and for misappropriating black vernacular for misogynistic purposes — Elon Musk is the absolute worst. Meanwhile Senator Warren has better things to do than fight with Junior Birdman on Twitter.”

Notice what she said about “misappropriating black vernacular.”

While there may be a difference between being black and being African American, Twitter users like those seen above took advantage of the fact that both are often used interchangeably to mock Reid.

And clearly, Masters picked up on the joke and used it in a direct attack on Warren. This of course triggered outrage from leftists claiming that Musk isn’t African American.

Look:

Why the rush to attack Musk’s defenders? Because he’s become increasingly “red-pilled” as of late, as demonstrated by his beef with Warren, as well as his beef with California:

“California used to be the land of opportunity and now it is… becoming more so the land of sort of overregulation, overlitigation, overtaxation,” he said in an interview Tuesday, adding that it is “increasingly difficult to get things done” in the far-left state.

And oh, the interview was with The Babylon Bee, a site that produces satire/parody from a conservative angle. No wonder the left’s raging mad at him.
