Biden campaign responds to Trump’s RNC speech, mad that he’s rejected Project 2025

Following Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump’s RNC speech, the Biden campaign kicked into gear to smear him and his “failed” address.

The Democrat campaign ripped into Trump for delivering an alleged “extreme vision” for his second term if he is elected in November and continued fearmongering about a policy that has no connection to the former president.

“Tonight, Donald Trump rambled on for well over an hour and failed to mention Project 2025 even once,” Biden campaign chair Jen O’Malley Dillon said in a statement Thursday following his closing speech at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee.

Despite the fact that the Heritage Foundation’s Presidential Transition Project, known as Project 2025, is not associated with Trump’s campaign nor has it been endorsed by the GOP nominee, Democrats continue to warn of its impact if Trump is re-elected.

“He failed to mention how he had inflicted pain and cruelty on the women of America by overturning Roe v Wade. He failed to mention his plan to take over the civil service and to pardon the January 6th insurrectionists,” O’Malley Dillon continued in her statement.

“He sought to find problems with America, not to provide solutions. But after all, it was Donald Trump who destroyed our economy, ripped away rights, and failed middle-class families. Now he pursues the presidency with an even more extreme vision for where he wants to take this country,” she said.

She claimed Biden presents an alternative where he is running “for an America where we defend democracy, not diminish it. Where we restore our rights and protect our freedoms, not take them away.”

“The stakes have never been higher. The choice has never been more clear. President Biden is more determined than ever to defeat Donald Trump and his Project 2025 agenda in November,” read the statement.

Trump delivered a more-than-90-minute speech at the RNC, a highly anticipated address, especially in light of the assassination attempt on his life. After recounting the harrowing details of the experience at last weekend’s Pennsylvania rally, the former president went on to speak of a united country, common goals, and the agenda to make America great again.

Democrats looking to smear Trump and connect him to policy blueprints that he has never endorsed will find it hard to quell the momentum behind the GOP nominee. And this as President Joe Biden faces calls from his own party leaders to end his re-election bid and step aside.

Biden has resisted all efforts to push him off the Democrat ticket but after testing positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday and cutting off campaigning to isolate in Rehoboth Beach, DE, the chorus seems to have reached a crescendo.

The Biden-Harris statement following Trump’s speech met plenty of angry reactions on social media.
