Biden White House fact checked AGAIN on Twitter and it’s glorious

New Twitter boss Elon Musk offered a remarkable tweet on Tuesday that revealed just how one-sided the social media platform has been all along, saying that it’s “obvious to all but the media, there is not one permanent ban on even the most far left account spouting utter lies.”

The billionaire’s quest to level the playing field while trying to protect free speech as much as one can on social media has irked the left to no end, especially his pursuit to offer the great unwashed a chance to acquire a coveted “blue check,” but nothing has stood out more to signal a whole new era on Twitter than the sudden “fact-checking” of liberal accounts.

Case in point, the Biden White House Twitter account, which has been engaging in a spirited endeavor of patting the administration on the back as America heads into the Thanksgiving holiday. In one such offering, the White House touts that they have “lowered the deficit with the single largest one-year reduction in American history.”

The claim was hit by a fact-checking of sorts by readers adding context they thought people might want to know: “COVID-driven deficits in both FY20 & 21 were roughly double the previous record (09), making the drop to FY22 sizeable,” and this, “But the FY22 deficit is still the 4th largest in history and is 41% larger than FY19.”

For those on the right, who have endured censoring, locked accounts, suspensions and shadow-banning, it was a glorious sight to behold.

Of course, this is not the first time the Biden White House has been held to account. Earlier this month, the administration was humiliated when it was forced to delete a tweet that had credited “President Biden’s leadership” for an increase in Social Security payments after being flagged by Twitter as being inaccurate.

“Seniors are getting the biggest increase in their Social Security checks in 10 years through President Biden’s leadership,” the White House tweeted — the irony here being that the bump was due to 40-year high inflation, which Biden is largely responsible for.

Here’s a quick sampling of responses to the story from Twitter:
