Calif. library sponsors Halloween drag story time, offers free candy and pizza to lure kids

A California library is drawing attention for sponsoring a drag queen event for Halloween, allowing men who dress up as women to flaunt themselves in front of children who were lured by an offer of free candy, pizza, and other goodies.

Despite growing backlash against such events which many have suggested are used by perverts to sexualize young kids, the Yolo County Public Library put on a special holiday edition of the drag queen story hours that have come under fire by parents who are legitimately concerned about having their children exposed to transvestites and potential groomers.

Once again, it was the invaluable work of Libs of TikTok that raised awareness about the event, posting the notice from the library on X, formerly known as Twitter to inform taxpayers of what their hard-earned money is being used for.

“California library offered free candy & pizza to kids to attend a drag show,” LOTT wrote. “This is how desperate they are to expose your children to half naked men dressed as women who will dance provocatively and expose their butts to your kids. This grooming event was also paid for by your tax dollars.”

According to the Yolo County Library’s website: “Join the UC Davis LGBTQIA Resource Center, Manetti Shrem Museum, UC Davis Women’s Resources and Research Center, and Yolo County Library for a Halloween Drag Story Time. Talented drag performer Princess B will bring beloved stories to life! Let your imagination run wild as you immerse yourself in crafts, candy, and community. Pizza and cupcakes will be provided, and you’ll get to take home a children’s book of your own (while supplies last), courtesy of the Yolo County Library Foundation.”

“The costume contest winner will even take home a grand prize! So, grab a friend or loved one, put on your favorite costume, and come join us for a spooktacular Halloween celebration,” the library states.

X users reacted to the low down and dirty trick or treating.

There was once a time when a man dressed up like a woman using free candy to reel in kids was frowned upon.
