Celebrity leftist vows to run against Biden, but has MAJOR hurdles to overcome: ‘I’ve lawyered up’

A progressive radio host is calling for President Joe Biden to step down and has announced he will be challenging him in a bid for the White House.

“The Young Turks” founder Cenk Uygur made the announcement Wednesday, saying he will run as a Democrat against Biden and as a “proxy” for any other candidates because he believes, like many others, that Biden is not up for the task.

Not only did Uygur grab attention with his longshot bid announcement but he seemed to be unfazed about one glaring problem with his effort: The 53-year-old was born in Istanbul, Turkey. But he is convinced he can win a Supreme Court battle and be allowed to run despite the U.S. Constitution’s “natural born citizen” clause.

“[Biden] is not going to win,” Uygur announced on his show. “It should not have been me, it should have been somebody else, but unfortunately it was not anyone else. There’s only four months left. We must change course. He has at best a 10 percent chance of winning. I’m running as a proxy. I am running to win. But I am also running as a proxy for any other candidate.”

“We have got to get Biden out of the race,” Uygur said. “Thank you for winning in 2020. But if he loses this time around, it’s not just his problem, it’s all of our problems. I actually think democracy is on the line, and so if it takes me running, that’s what I’m gonna do.

His post on X generated user reactions with added context about his ineligibility.

“It isn’t like I have giant policy disagreements with Biden,” Uygur told Semafor. “I actually intend to fight for those incredibly popular policies and pass them. Biden hasn’t tried that, because his donors don’t want him to.”

He predicted a “slam dunk” victory if his eligibility issue reaches the Supreme Court.

“That’s another good reason to run,” he said. “I’m tired of 25 million Americans having this albatross around their neck.”

“I have lawyered up,” Uygur, a former MSNBC commentator, said Wednesday. “I have the same lawyer [Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.)] used in both of his presidential runs. And my guess is I’m going to have some strong allies in this. Arnold Schwarzenegger. I’m going to the Supreme Court. Either I’m going to win or I’m going to lose. Now this case is on our side. The precedent is definitely on our side. So, what are you going to do, brother?“

Seems he is in for a battle on many fronts, as social media users were quick to point out.
