Now that the NFL season is finally over and replacements for all fired head coaches have been made, the annual ritual of bemoaning the lack of black hires has commenced with CNN’s Jake Tapper asking whether Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy would have gotten a top job if he was white.
On Monday, the Arizona Cardinals and Indianapolis Colts closed out the hiring process by tabbing both the offensive and defensive coordinators from the Philadelphia Eagles who had just lost in the big game to lead their squads, both Shane Steichen and Jonathan Gannon are white.
During Tuesday’s edition of “The Lead With Jake Tapper,” the whiny anchor discussed the latest snub of Bieniemy who has been the OC for the Chiefs since 2018, a dominant run for the team that has included two Super Bowl titles, including the most recent one over the Eagles on Sunday.
In his conversation with iconic sportscaster Bob Costas, Tapper asked “Would Eric Bieniemy be a head coach today if he were white?”
“I think you would have to conclude that as likely,” answered Costas, a flaming liberal who proudly wears his left-wing ideology on his sleeve.

“But I want to stipulate by saying that not every individual situation necessarily personifies a larger truth, but having said that, Eric Bieniemy has interviewed 15 times with 14 different teams,” he said.
“There are four black head coaches in the National Football League and two, Robert Saleh with the Jets and Ron Rivera in Washington, who are minority coaches,” Costas added. “In 2018, the season began with seven, so instead of continued progress, it seems like there’s a lurch forward and then a fallback in this ongoing effort to reach some kind of fairness.”
“It doesn’t have to be exact equity. It doesn’t have to match up with the number of black players within the league, but clearly, something is wrong here, systemically,” Costas said, although to his credit, he did add that one factor could be that since KC head coach Andy Reid calls the plays, that he gets more credit for the team’s success than Bieniemy who has less influence on games than other offensive coordinators.
Tapper read from a column by race-obsessed USA Today sportswriter Mike Freeman on Bieniemy being “screwed again” over not getting an opportunity to be a head coach.
The most likely thing Andy Reid was doing with his postgame praise of Eric Bieniemy was making sure no one forgets him, despite the fact that year after year and season after season, he continues to get passed over, says @mikefreemanNFLhttps://t.co/ixbDxmeV6O

“Bieniemy continues to get passed over. Actually, ‘passed over’ is too nice a phrase to use. Eric will likely get screwed again,” Tapper said reading from the op-ed from a man who just likened the Super Bowl to the fictional black ethnostate Wakanda from Marvel’s “Black Panther” movies as he gloated over the game’s in-your-face “woke” racial propaganda.
“The reason I ask the question is because I look at his merit and I say, ‘Why hasn’t somebody snatched him up?’” Tapper asked.
Another black sportswriter, Jason Whitlock of “Fearless” addressed the latest round of ginned-up racial controversy over Bieniemy not getting a top gig, suggesting that owners and team executives simply don’t see him as being a good leader.
Eric Bieniemy is incapable of convincing NFL executives that he can be their guy. You have to be able to sell yourself to get the job; the same goes for TV, movies, and others. pic.twitter.com/1Kd06XmdMR

Many on Twitter reacted with the predictable tiresome indignation after poor Bieniemy would once again be denied that which he is entitled to on the basis of his skin color.
Eric Bieniemy
Has won two Super Bowls as the offensive coordinator for the Kansas City Chiefs
And no team has hired him as a head coach
But white coaches that haven't won anything are freely given head coaching jobs pic.twitter.com/3BVbbFnVoV

Show me a white offensive coordinator that won two Super Bowls and didn’t go on to become a head coach. Instead, Eric Bieniemy is a contender to be the OC for the Ravens or Commanders. Why leave for two lesser teams? The @NFL is trash when it comes to Black head coaches.

If you don’t think racism in the NFL is real , Eric Bienemy is still an assistant coach

You can’t tell me it’s not based on RACISM at all anymore. Eric Bieniemy and Raheem Morris both WON Super Bowls as coordinators yet they don’t get jobs. Two white coaches LOSE the Super Bowl w/limited experience and boom hired.

What doesn’t receive much attention is that the Houston Texans hired former San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator DeMeco Ryans, who is black, as their new head coach, inking their former star linebacker to a lucrative six-year deal two weeks ago.
Demeco Ryans literally got a HC job. Can we quit pretending that Eric Bieniemy not getting a job is bc of racism? Y’all are so lazy with your takes sometimes.

The left never sleeps when it comes to looking for new martyrs to glom onto to promote their false narrative of systemic racism and few have done it better over the years than the biased political hacks and outright propagandists at CNN.
