‘Coincidence?’ Voter registration website goes dark the day Trump returns to Butler

The 2024 presidential election will come down to a handful of battleground states, just as it did in 2020. At the top of that list is Pennsylvania, along with Michigan, Wisconsin, North Carolina, Georgia, and perhaps Arizona.

On Saturday, former President Donald Trump made a historic return to Butler, Pennsylvania, the sight where he was nearly killed by a would-be assassin, drawing a massive crowd while being joined on the stump by Elon Musk to mark exactly 12 weeks since the failed assassination attempt — which has largely been memory-holed by the propaganda press.

Interestingly, Pennsylvania opted to shut down its voter registration website for “scheduled system maintenance” on the very day Trump returned. A fact that did not escape the attention of conservative activist Scott Presler, who has been highly effective in registering Republican voters.

Presler posted on social media, “The PA State Department voter registration website will be unavailable on Saturday, October 5th, the day that President Trump will be triumphantly returning to the site of the assassination attempt in Butler County, PA. W/ all eyes on PA, the site will be down. Coincidence?”

After thanking Presler for bringing the troubling matter to her attention, Lara Trump, who co-chairs the Republican National Committee, had the GOP legal team get involved in altering the downtime.

“Wow, they aren’t even trying to hide their blatant interference,” she posted on X.

“We discovered this days ago & — thanks to @LaraLeaTrump — got the time changed to 10 p.m. – 4 a.m.,” Presler said in a follow-up. “I can verify that the PA voter registration website WAS up & running until 10 p.m. Then, it was unavailable for site maintenance. Around midnight, it was back.”

He also had this message for Lara Trump: “My heart. Thank you for listening. It was obvious that the @PAStateDept was engaging in election interference. This act alone — of getting the maintenance time changed — will probably net President Trump a few thousand more votes in Pennsylvania. I’ll be there in Butler.”

When they finally stopped counting votes in Pennsylvania in the pandemic-marred 2020 election, Biden was declared the winner by just over 80,000 votes, which means every vote will matter in 2024.

In that regard, Presler may prove to be a godsend.

Here’s a quick sampling of responses to the story, as seen on X:
