A Connecticut judge has overturned the results in Bridgeport’s mayoral primary and ordered a new election just days before voters were set to go to the polls after a video of ballot box stuffing was posted online.
On Wednesday, Superior Court Judge William Clark threw out the results of the September 12 primary that was won by Democrat incumbent Joe Ganim by 251 votes with the margin of victory coming as a result of absentee ballots.
But there was a big problem with Ganin’s victory which doesn’t appear to have been on the up-and-up with surveillance video showing one of his supporters stuffing stacks of paper into a ballot depository box, footage that went viral on social media after being obtained and shared with the public by opponent John Gomes

“The volume of ballots so mishandled is such that it calls the result of the primary election into serious doubt and leaves the court unable to determine the legitimate result of the primary,” Judge Clark said in his ruling, stating that the videos “are shocking to the court and should be shocking to all the parties.”
Gomes hailed the ruling, “Today, Lady Justice fulfilled her duty. She attentively heard the voices of the people of Bridgeport, carefully considered the facts, and impartially applied the law, as justice should always be served,” he said in a statement posted to Facebook.
“In this moment, we commemorate the significance of this decision by the Honorable Judge William Clark. I’m no stranger to competition or politics, and I understand that in life, we experience both victories and losses,” he said. “We must continue to show up, give our best, accept the decisions, and move forward with integrity and respect. However, when there is wrongdoing, it must be addressed, and we have shown that in the courtroom.”
“The victory today belongs not only to me as the Plaintiff but to all the people of Bridgeport who were wronged in the numerous ways detailed in Judge Clark’s remarkable decision. Today, democracy prevails,” Gomes added.

“Malicious actors attempted to suppress the will of Bridgeport’s voters and obstruct my mission to bring my platform for leadership and change to City Hall,” Gomes wrote on Facebook last month along video of the blatant cheating. “Fortunately, these efforts failed to diminish the credibility of my campaign and the integrity of my supporters.”
“During the discovery process of our injunction action, we unearthed further evidence of corruption, including the illegal manipulation of absentee ballot boxes by supporters of Ganim and elected officials. This discovery only strengthens our resolve,” he said.
It is just another example of how the Democrat pontificating about “democracy” is just a big lie and the ballot box stuffing in Connecticut has some wondering why little has been done about videos purporting to show similar trickery may have been used during the 2020 presidential election to swing the contest to Joe Biden.

“At the end of the day, the videos don’t lie,” said Gomes’ attorney Bill Bloss after the ruling. “The videos showed substantial, massive absentee ballot misconduct. And that was certainly a substantial reason why the judge ruled the way he did, I think.”
“We hope the city will ensure that all eligible voters are made aware of the new date to avoid disenfranchising any citizens,” Connecticut Secretary of State Stephanie Thomas said in a statement. “The court’s finding that there was a ‘significant mishandling of ballots’ should be of great concern to all. Our office will continue to advocate for policies such as drop box surveillance, a Connecticut Election Court, and investment in voter education – all of which will strengthen our election system.”
