‘Don’t f**k with Gary’: Clip of alleged ‘vigilante justice’ in Chicago wins the internet

Video footage of a confrontation between two men is taking the internet by storm, likely because it’s being characterized as a display of vigilante justice — others argue that it’s simply self-defense.

Few details are known about the encounter, then again facts have proven to be an optional commodity in today’s bread and circus society. It’s not clear why the men are squaring off — purportedly in Chicago. The black man appears to be armed with a knife, but that doesn’t deter the other combatant who a woman in the clip keeps referring to as “Gary.”

The moral of the story, as presented, is: “Don’t f*ck with Gary.”

Gary is determined to neutralize what he clearly sees as a threat, even as the woman with him turns her back on that threat. Tall and lanky, Gary uses his reach to his advantage as another man begins calling out, “Break it up! Break it up!”

But Gary is not to be denied his pound of flesh and as he proceeds to lay a whooping on the other man, the woman with him decided to serve as an ineffective anchor by grabbing Gary’s shirttail and trying to pull him off the man who is crying out by this point.

“Gary, stop! Stop!” she yells repeatedly while trying to stop the beat down.

It was her actions that drew plenty of attention from social media users — here’s a quick sampling of responses to the story from X:
