Dr. Phil films ride-along with ICE and Homan in Chicago, chats with criminal migrants as they’re arrested

The sweeping efforts of Homeland Security did not go unnoticed as a famed TV doctor was seen accompanying the border czar on a “pretty high-risk mission” to round up illegal aliens.

Sunday was a big day for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the agency’s most successful day in the first week of President Donald Trump’s second term as far as arrests and detainers were concerned. On the ground in Chicago to witness the law enforcement firsthand, Dr. Phil McGraw accompanied Tom Homan in the Windy City, setting the record straight in opposition to leftist narratives.

In one clip posted by the former practicing psychologist, McGraw and the border czar could be seen interacting with a man described as a “convicted sex offender and internet predator from Thailand” who claimed to be the son of a legal citizen who had never been deported.

“This is an example of sanctuary cities, right? We’ve got an illegal alien convicted of sex crimes involving children,” said Homan amid the doctor’s own questions for the arrestee. “He’s walking the streets of Chicago.”

Another video shared on social media featured McGraw explaining, “The problem that we have with some of the pushback that ICE has been getting from sanctuary cities is they’re saying, no, we don’t want to cooperate with you. We don’t want to give you access to some of the people that we may have arrested that may be in jails. You need to go get warrants and we may give bail to these people. We may have a no-bail situation and have them in for a time and turn them back out.”

“And here’s the point that ICE has made, and I think it’s a good one. If these people are in detention and ICE agents can come into the jail and arrest them there and put them on the path towards deportation at that point, they can do that in complete safety,” he reminded. “It’s a controlled environment. Whereas tomorrow, later today actually, we’re going to have to go after these people out in a free environment where — an apartment complex or an apartment project — where there are a lot of civilians around. And if they resist, if they open fire on these agents, you have to return fire. Then people can get caught in the crossfire. If a car chase ensues, things can happen where people are put at risk. If they’re turned over while they’re in jail, all of that goes away.”

Previewing the ride along, McGraw had also made clear, “It’s a pretty high-risk mission that we’re going on.”

In seeking to clarify the mission amid hoaxes and gaslighting that included Chicago Public Schools claiming ICE agents had approached an elementary school to take children when it was really U.S. Secret Service agents checking in on a threat to a member of their detail, the doctor fired off a direct question to Homan.

“Are you going into schools and arresting children at school?” he asked as well as, “Is anything like that happening?” both of which earned the response, “No.”

According to ICE, Sunday’s efforts amounted to 956 arrests and 554 detainers lodged as considerable action was taking place in the southeast. This included reports from the Miami, Florida field office of ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations that detailed three arrests in the Sunshine State as well as two in Puerto Rico who were from the Dominican Republic.

At the Broward County Jail, a Nicaraguan national was arrested with charges including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, discharging a firearm in public, driving with a suspended license, and unlawful carrying of a concealed weapon.

ICE also arrested a Jamaican national in Broward County with charges of display of a firearm during a felony offense, operating a motor vehicle without a valid license, and possession of oxycodone.

At Martin County Jail in Stuart, Florida, a detainer was placed on a Mexican national convicted of multiple DUIs and charged with a number of traffic offenses, ERO Miami explained and stated, “[ICE] protects America by enforcing US immigration laws to preserve national security & public safety.”

In addition to supporting Homan’s active involvement in fulfilling the duties of “border czar” that Vice President Kamala Harris had been heavily criticized over what many considered to be actual facilitation of the border crisis, reactions to McGraw’s ride along had many supporting the possibility of a new version of the program “Cops.”
