Ex-Border Patrol chief says Biden admin forbade him from talking about migrants with terror ties

Former San Diego Sector Chief Patrol official Aaron Heitke leveled a “damning” accusation about the Biden-Harris administration while testifying before a House Homeland Security Committee hearing.

“In San Diego, we had an exponential increase in Significant Interest Aliens [SIAs]. These are aliens with significant ties to terrorism,” Heitke said.

“Prior to this administration, the San Diego sector averaged 10-15 SIAs per year. Once word was out that the border was far easier to cross, San Diego went to over 100 SIAs in 2022, way over 100 SIAs in 2023, and more than that this year,” he explained. “These are only the ones we caught.”

The former Border Patrol official told lawmakers that he was told not to release any information about the increased threat.

“At the time, I was told I could not release any information on this increase in SIAs or mention any of the arrests. The administration was trying to convince the public that there was no threat at the border,” he said.

Heitke also testified that he would release illegal aliens “by the hundreds” each day and provide flights from San Diego to Texas to cover up for the overwhelmed areas.

“I had to release illegal aliens by the hundreds each day into communities who could not support them,” Heitke told the panel. “To quiet the problem, two flights a week were provided from San Diego to Texas. These flights simply brought aliens that would have been released in San Diego over to Texas.”

Fox News correspondent Bill Melugin, who likely knows more about the Biden-Harris border crisis than any reporter in America, responded to the testimony by posting on X: “Incredibly damning.”
