It turns out that California Rep. Katie Porter, a Democrat with a nasty reputation, is even nastier than previously imagined.
U.S. Navy veteran Sasha Georgiades, a former Wounded Warrior Fellow with Porter’s office, would know.
Speaking this week with Fox News, Georgiades said that while she worked for Porter, the Democrat had a habit of making rude, racist, and disrespectful remarks to staffers.
For instance, she sometimes allegedly used racial slurs. Other times, she “ridiculed people for reporting sexual harassment” and “made fun of individuals whose parents passed away from COVID.”
She sounds like a real nice lady, no?

Indeed, when someone reported sexual harassment to Porter, she “basically told the individual to grow up,” Georgiades told Fox News.
Now imagine the headlines if a Republican had ever said that to a sexual harassment victim.
The staffer reportedly wound up leaving the job after Porter dressed her down.
Continuing her remarks to Fox News, Georgiades described what happened during the summer as Porter’s office communications director was setting things up for a Facebook live event.
According to Georgiades, the director “had set up the ring light and iPad, and then Katie came in and completely dressed her down in front of me” because “she hadn’t set the ring light up correctly, according to Katie, and didn’t put the iPad in the right place so Katie would look good.”
“And she was telling her basically there was no reason for her to even have a job if she had to just come in and fix everything,” the former Porter staffer recalled.
She added that the communications director had almost burst into tears because Porter had “made her feel so bad.”
These new revelations from Georgiades come soon after she made headlines for describing to the media how Porter had treated her after she’d committed the apparent crime of testing positive for COVID.

First, some background: Georgiades had been working for her since the fall of 2020 as a Wounded Warrior Fellow, with her fellowship scheduled to end this fall. All was well until July 9th of this year, when Porter texted Georgiades, reportedly blasting her for having contracted COVID.
“Why did you not follow office protocol on testing? It’s really disappointing,” she wrote in a text message shared with Reason magazine.
According to Reason magazine, Porter’s office protocol mandates that a staffer seek out COVID testing “the instant” they feel unwell.
“Georgiades maintains an active lifestyle—she goes to the gym almost every day—and says that at first, she thought she was just sore from exercise,” Reason notes.
“At the time I felt okay, just sore as if had worked out too hard. It was hard to differentiate until the next morning and as soon as I felt sick I took a test, told the district director I had it, and stayed home,” Georgiades told the magazine.
Porter nevertheless retaliated against her by relegating her to remote work and permanently banning her from the office for the remainder of her fellowship.
Porter, who contracted COVID around the same time as Georgiades, also blamed the staffer for her own diagnosis.
“Well you gave me Covid. In 25 months, it took you not following the rules to get me sick. My children have nobody to care for them,” she texted her.

Georgiades isn’t necessarily the only staffer who’s spoken out — though she’s definitely the only one who’s spoken out openly.
Several alleged Porter staffers have been sending direct messages to a Twitter account called “Dear White Staffers” purporting to describe other examples of Porter’s lousy behavior.
“Widely known across the party/consultants that Katie Porter is abusive. Unable to cope with basic demands of being a member so she takes it out staff. Says rude/racist things (anti-black esp) and tries to mask it as edgy humor. Thinks she knows better and talks shit about other members, leadership, staffers, local electeds, etc at full volume, in public and to literally any1 who will listen,” one direct message reads.
“Completely disinterested in repping OC [Orange County] and just waiting to go statewide or national. From what ive seen only ppl that survive are super fans that participate in or overlook the abuse. Has gone thru staff rosters several times over. Give it time and will rank among the legendary toxic offices,” it continues.

“I worked on Katie’s campaign. I had multiple panic attacks, she was always screaming at her staffers over the phone during her fundraising call time. Her consultants aren’t any better bc you have to be just as insane as Katie to work for her. I love her, but I’ve never hated my life more than when I worked for her. I’ve worked for many reps, and her campaign has more turnover, more burnt out 22-25 year olds that I’ve ever seen. Including myself,” another direct message reads.
