Former spokesman claims damage control effort followed debate admission

Former First Lady Jill Biden’s ex-spokesman is calling her out on her 2024 debate comments.

During a recent interview with CBS’s Sunday Morning, the ex-FLOTUS claimed that she was shocked, fearing her husband, former President Joe Biden, was suffering a stroke during his disastrous debate against President Donald Trump.

“I don’t know what happened. I mean, as I watched it, I thought, ‘Oh my God, he’s having a stroke.’ And it scared me to death,” she said.

This appears to contradict her immediate reaction following the debate, in which she told her husband: “You did such a great job, you answered every question, you knew all the facts.”

“They’re trying to change the tape in people’s minds about who she is… that’s why she’s sort of changing her tune a little bit about her reaction in real time,” said Jill Biden’s ex-spokesman Michael LaRosa. “She wants to say, ‘Oh no, my reaction was just as concerning and was just as severe as everyone at home. I was shocked.'”

He pointed out that the first lady served as “the face and the voice of the initial reaction for the country,” saying that it “would have been a more human response” if she had shared her fears much sooner.
