Geraldo is having a hard time grasping DeSantis’ pro-freedom message, Twitter helps him out

Even though the Republican “red wave” fizzled with the party vastly underperforming in the midterm elections, one of the bright spots was that the free state of Florida was the beneficiary of what can only be described as a “red tsunami” as voters resoundingly rejected Democrats and their policies in the Sunshine State.

The GOP’s dominant performance can largely be attributed to the leadership of Governor Ron DeSantis who rejected the lockdowns and mandates wielded by Democrat leaders, leading to vast amounts of economic and psychological damage as jobs and businesses were intentionally destroyed and classrooms shuttered with blue state governors being in total lockstep with the Biden regime at great expense to their own citizens.

DeSantis’ ability to keep Florida open for business and free of coercive civil liberties-destroying measures as well as his rollback of the social agenda of “woke” racists and sexual degenerates have driven leftists to fits, with one of them being longtime investigative journalist, gadfly and Fox News contributor Geraldo Rivera who reacted negatively to the governor’s Thanksgiving message of hope and freedom.

“Keep Florida free? From what or whom?” Rivera wrote in a tweet of the Sunshine State Republican’s brief holiday address, insinuating that there was something sinister about the governor’s thanks to God almighty.

“Two hundred thirty-three years ago, President George Washington issued a proclamation for a day of public thanksgiving and prayer for the American people to acknowledge with grateful hearts, the many signal favors of Almighty God, especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness,” DeSantis said.

“Now we’re blessed to be Americans and to live in the free state of Florida. While our country has faced so many problems in recent years we have the capacity to solve these problems and to bring about brighter days,” he added. “The first lady and I have much to be thankful for, her health, our three children Madison, Mason and Mamie and the trust Floridians have placed in me and my administration to continue our efforts.”

“We will keep Florida free. Thank you and God bless you all,” the governor concluded, a message that in saner times before the left went mad would have been completely uncontroversial but, by virtue of his crushing of Democrat Charlie Crist in his reelection bid, the rising political star will be constantly demonized by Rivera and his ilk in the corrupt media.

Twitter users filled in the blanks for Geraldo.

Buzz has been building that DeSantis is the future of the GOP and a man who could lead the party out of the political wilderness in 2024, something that Rivera and the rest of the East Coast elitist media are determined to prevent.
