GOP Rep Anna Paulina Luna brings receipts in brilliant Yoel Roth Twitter grilling, draws WaPo hit piece

U.S. Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, R-Fla., reinforced early indications that she’s a rising star in the GOP with her performance on Wednesday at a House Oversight and Accountability Committee hearing featuring former Twitter executives.

Luna grilled Yoel Roth, Twitter’s former global head of trust and safety, about the platform’s alleged collusion with federal agencies to block a story about Hunter Biden in the run-up to the 2020 election, producing a flowchart showing that federal agencies were communicating with Twitter on a private cloud server called Jira and screenshots of Roth’s entries after he claimed that he could not recall participating in these communications.

“I want to let you know that this is a violation of the First Amendment, and the government is colluding with social media companies to censor Americans,” Luna said.

The freshman Republican said the flow chart reflected the federal agencies, including Homeland Security, social media companies, leftist non-profits and other organizations “communicating regarding their versions of misinformation.” In naming the Election Integrity Partnership, Luna noted that the DNC was potentially involved as well.

In nailing down Roth, who tried to squirm out of acknowledging his participation, Luna declared, “This, ladies and gentlemen, is joint action between the federal government and a private company to censor and violate the First Amendment. This is also known as … joint state actors. It’s highly illegal, you are all engaged in this action, and I want you to know that you’ll all be held accountable.”

In office just a month, Luna has had an interesting start being part of a small group of Republicans who refused to support now-Speaker Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif. — a contentious effort that resulted in the GOP leader making major concessions to conservative elements of the party.

She has already drawn a feature-length Washington Post hit piece against her, “The making of Anna Paulina Luna.” Published Friday, the newspaper digs through her past, talking to old roommates and even a cousin to disparage her character.

“Luna’s sharp turn to the right, her account of an isolated and impoverished childhood, and her embrace of her Hispanic heritage have come as a surprise to some friends and family who knew her before her ascent to the U.S. House this year,” WaPo declared.

Among other things, the piece goes on to note that Luna has said that she identifies as Christian but was “raised as a Messianic Jew by her father,” only to then raise questions about her father’s Jewish faith. There is also the now-prerequisite suggestion that the Republican lawmaker’s grandfatherhad Nazi ties.”

Apparently, the Washington Post didn’t get the memo that Luna fights back as she took to Twitter to point out some of the issues she had with the article. She also shared screenshots of the exchange a roommate had with the paper:
